Looks like in the first 9 days of March, the debt increased 64 billion

https://www.cbo.gov/system/files/202...23-CBO-MBR.pdf

https://treasurydirect.gov/NP/debt/current

Reciepts totaled 187 billion while expenditures were 423 billion.

Social Security and Medicare spending up 5%, Medicaid spending up 9%.

Will be interesting if President Trump proposal passes with the 0% payroll tax as tax receipts have only been 855 billion dollars for individual income tax, corporate and other taxes so far. The government has spent around 2 trillion so far.

Deficit spending is a must right now to get us through this depression.

Now yes. But the figures shown are for February, before we started to spend on Covid-19. In February 2020 we were still like, "hey this is the greatest economy of all time", so why were we still piling on the debt?

We are looking at $3-5 trillion debt increase this year, which the admin will blame 100% on the virus, but critical thinkers know better.

Gosh do you think many in Congress and the President lied when they said they cared about the debt?

Out of control spending.
