1) gov't has ordered a bunch of hydroxychloroquine, but no word on when these treatments will be available or how they will be deployed
2) Trump believes hydroxychloroquine may work because "he has a feeling" and its a "good feeling"
3) Trump doesn't agree with Fauci that there are currently no "magic bullets", infers that hydroxychloroquine "may be a game changer" except later he says he agrees with Fauci that hydroxychloroquine "may or may not work".
4) decides to attack a reporter instead of giving us more facts about the course of action, and re-assuring the American public.
TLDR: Trump was a dick. A clueless dick.
Reporters aren't even being SLIGHTLY nasty, they can't if they want to remain in the press room. So none of them are calling him on his BS directly, nor are they calling him what he is.
In terms of management the US is doing well. Our death rate is down to about 1.5%, much lower than many other countries.
One person can result in over 4,000 infections. The actions taken of closing businesses and reducing social gatherings to less than 10 is appropriate. In the absence of an effective drug/vaccine to treat the disease, the best measures to reduce spread are public health initiatives.
In most instances, corona viruses tend to "burn out" with warmer weather, due to fewer people packed inside. However, there is usually an "echo" in the following fall/winter.
Hopefully the measures taken will be successful, such that those who are suggesting the response is "overblown" will be able to say, "I told you so".
Try telling that to the mayor of Ponca City, OK who doesn't feel fit to close anything even those 3 cases have been turned up in his county.
STATEMENT ISSUED BY PONCA CITY:
"The City of Stillwater made the announcement on Tuesday that all bars, restaurants and fitness facilities would be closed until further notice.
Ponca City Mayor Homer Nicholson said he would not do the same in Ponca City. “We are not going to do that at this time,” he said. “My belief is that Stillwater did this due to the fact that they are a college city with thousands of students that frequent restaurants and bars.”
“I continue to urge the public to be cautious, wash your hands, keep your distance and our plan in Ponca City is to maintain business as usual and try to maintain a comfort level so that no pandemonium happens.”
“We will not do what the City of Stillwater has done unless there is a reason to do so here in Ponca City.”
Here in MI, things are going well...or were until this. All I see around me is new commercial and residential construction in areas that have sat stagnant for years. We are seeing new manufacturing plants being built. Help wanted signs in front of manufacturing shops. Many of the people I know that own small businesses are doing awesome. My wife works in wealth management and the past few years have been awesome. My career has been awesome, and I'm getting close (still about $25k shy) to my pre 2009 salary.
In my personal life, our home of 20 + value has risen enough for us to make a move. We almost doubled our size on a wooded 2 acre lot. Things have done nothing but improve in my circle of life. To be fair though, when Obama was POTUS , things went south but improved. I spent a year laid off. He did help my industry though and things have been steadily improving since.
So, sorry, I can't share your negativity on how the economy is doing. All is on hold now though with this virus.
An yes, I'm glad a Democrat didn't win.
If the bolded last line is true, you just outted yourself as a biased source when it comes to trusting Trump. You are apparently red pill. Go Team Red!

.5%, much lower than many other countries.
The concern is that the death rate goes up because the number of total cases overwhelms the healthcare system.
If you gave the average 50-year old American COVID-19, and then provided him/her around the clock ICU care, he/she has around a 94% chance of survival.
The question is what happens when confirmed cases explode and you have to give hundreds of thousands of Americans ICU care. As the number of cases swamp the system, the fear is there won't be enough medical resources to treat these people.
