I don’t like him much, but it’s shameful to blame this worldwide, massive pandemic on him.

Should we all congratulate trump for holding rallies of 1000s during a time the coronavirus was spreading like wildfire and already in the US?

It's because that's what their trusted leaders in the White House and the media have been telling them. And they just soak it up like little sponges.
Indeed.

Exactly one year ago yesterday I had what was diagnosed as the flu. Could I have had this then?

Sure you don't

Good thing no one is doing that then.

Trump is a shallow clown. But his opponents are ten times worse.. Which is really saying something!

You will be more credible when you start out by slamming your feckless Beloveds like Trudeau and the EU, for being two steps behind Trump.

I think you probably can in this instance. I also would not be surprised to learn that corona viruses in general do circulate generally in the population at low levels and that they cause similar symptoms to this new one, which may be clouding the whole picture.

Epidemiologists from everywhere will be studying this for some time to come, just as they did HIV, and it is very likely that the narrative we are getting now will change. Additional information has that effect.

Racking my brain to come up with a single opponent of Trump who would have sat on this for months while lying to people that it was no big deal instead of preparing.

Nope, can't come up with a single one.

In the 2 months Trump was lying by calling this a flu and lying by calling the media response a hoax, at the rate of growth exhibited by this virus we can estimate that it would have doubled in number at least 15 times.

So if there was only 1 case when he STARTED lying about it, then we can expect there were at least 32,768 cases flying under the radar by the time he STOPPED lying about it.

Makes me wonder if those kids who got sick in January from vaping had covid-19 too?
Now that is interesting.

Yes, that's true.

You have 1,000s of corona virus deaths every year and you have for 200+ years.

There's a class of virus that cause URIs (Upper Respiratory Infections).

Those virus are corona, influenza, parainfluenza, adenovrius, RSV and viral pneumonia.

They all present the same symptoms.

So, how do you know you have the flue and not parainfluenza or corona?

You don't, and you won't, because nobody tests for it.

Why? What's the freaking point?

It's a big waste of time, money, resources and effort.

There's no cure for any of those virus.

The only thing that can be done is give patients drugs to alleviate the symptoms, not the cause, and help the patient breathe easier.

Your immune system will either fight it off, or it won't, or it will do a dirt-poor job and leave your lungs scarred causing problems the rest of your life.
