Got it.

'Millions of people" may "admire" him, but millions more detest him.

Trump is a dimwit, unfit to ever have been elected who is driving America into the ground.

Informed people understand that.
Thank you very much for this post.

Not new, and I've found self-isolation from P&OC makes one feel much better!

OP, this has to be one of the dumbest threads ever posted here - and that's saying a lot.

From an economic standpoint - their money will be inherited and often taxes will be paid on tax-free IRA's.

But, yeah, we (seniors) aren't going anywhere. We will be here after this thing...in general.

He is/was wrong to say a word about it. He should have said things are being worked on...then Fauci can tell us what and how and the potential time frames.

Remember, this is the same POTUS that said "15 cases and down to zero soon". He did.

Should he has said that? According to you it sounds like the answer may be YES.

He's just trying to save his own skin. The Chinese have been using the stuff for many weeks. Why didn't Trump mention that? It's not safe for those over 65 (according to Chinese). Why didn't he mention that?

It's as if you think mixing all the chemicals in your hobby chemistry set together is going to make something of value. It won't.

Cooler and smarter heads are working on stuff. All Trump did was cause a "run on the bank" and now one company making a drug had to shut down even emergency use of it.

The job of a leader is to watch their mouth and be measured.

#4 i invalid. The flu is a known disease. This COVID-19 is not. No one knows yet how lethal it is because it's so new.

All the other stuff is to be expected in a country that has an aging population and has some on-going economic trouble.

People who feel well aren't going to go for a confirmation test until they think they may be sick. It's only when big hunks of the population are tested that the test results can show any semi-accurate percentages. That testing can't happen when the citizenry is in widespread quarantine unless there are enough trained professionals to go out and do it.

In normal testing the people are circulating normally and the tests are done where they congregate. Quarantine freezes everything in place.

Are there ulterior motives? For sure, there will be people who will try to take quick advantage of this epidemic. But the motives are opportunistic. No one caused the disease just to disrupt the everyday life of Italy.
