You can't throw money at a virus. It sounds good in theory, but how long will $1,000 last for months on end?
Where we live I work in a restaurant that is frequently by tourists in the Summer and fall is where I make money. My wife has her own business she does overnight pet sits both jobs consist of people going on vacations, long weekends, etc. people are not going on vacations now. Here in N.C restaurants are only doing carry out and delivery now that’s mandatory. At my job we have been told to file for unemployment until this blows over, and while $1,000 isn’t a lot it would give us the ability to buy more food then we usually do. That’s assuming stupid people stop hoarding food! Not to mention pay our bills.
On a side note last we heard they were talking about $1,000 per person in the household. For us that would go a long way.

I like the idea of $1000 for those who need it. Even if they apply an income cap and I don’t see a dollar of it, it will make a huge difference for many people and I can’t think of a better way to use taxpayer funds.
Florida is a national disgrace. Their idiot governor, DeSantis, refuses to close the beaches crowded with spring break kids. Gee, thousands of college students all crammed together on the beach, surrounded by senior communities. What could go wrong?
Trump should call DeSantis and say, "If you don't close those beaches in the next 24 hours, I'll do it for you."
