Stupid because people are blaming President Trump for a system that predates him.

Harry Truman: The buck stops here.

Donald Trump: Take this buck away and throw it through Obama's window.

The Associated Press is calling out two leading Democratic presidential candidates for what the outlet says were inaccurate comments about the government's ability to address diseases like the coronavirus.
Former Vice President Joe Biden and former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg were "both wrong" to say critical health agencies faced funding cuts. While discussing the coronavirus during Tuesday's debate, those candidates blamed President Trump for restricting resources for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and National Institutes of Health (NIH).

“There’s nobody here to figure out what the hell we should be doing. And he’s defunded — he’s defunded Centers for Disease Control, CDC, so we don’t have the organization we need. This is a very serious thing," Bloomberg said.
Biden similarly indicated Trump reversed the Obama-Biden administration's budget increases to those agencies.
“We increased the budget of the CDC. We increased the NIH budget. ... He’s wiped all that out. ... He cut the funding for the entire effort," he said.

But according to the AP, Trump's proposed budget cuts never went into effect. Funding to fight the latest outbreak also came from a congressional fund created for health emergencies.
Some public health experts say a bigger concern than White House budgets is the steady erosion of a CDC grant program for state and local public health emergency preparedness — the front lines in detecting and battling new disease. But that decline was set in motion by a congressional budget measure that predates Trump.

Just stop. No the Dems are not happy that our investments have dropped significantly and the world as we know it has totally changed.

What would be nice if we could get our leader to give us correct info and a consistent message. Instead the White House had to walk back several of his inaccurate comments in his address to the nation that was supposed to make us feel as if he has this under control. He has constantly made comments that were simply not true and needed the experts to later correct. This should never happen.

Sounds like someone has upset your fantasy of the prefect world !!!

The reality is we don't have the perfect world, never did and never will !!!

We have come a long way in improving gov. response to unprecedented events !!! Unfortunately media still lags far behind.
One such unprecedented even was the eruption of Mount St. Helens. Living near the area at the time I remember all the information given out by the media one hour was contradicted the next hour. That went on until the ash settled from the sky and the sun was no longer blocked out by it !!! No one at the time put the blame on the President !!! Today they most certainly would !!!

This is a despicable and disgusting generalization and mean-spirited lie. Is it possible, the Trump campaign is seeding the excuse they will use when America finally drains the real swamp in 2020?

Seems like a plausible summation of the last 4 years : win an election by blaming Democrats for all unhappiness and issues in America; govern by grievances and blaming the former Democratic administration for all issues in America; lose an election due to failure to lead and participate in any solutions for America's issues and blame Democrats for said failure.

Well I guess we've gone from "Trump will win the biggest landslide in political history" to "Trump will be the biggest underdog story in political history" in the span of about 10 days.
