And the Republican answer is what it has always been: Blame foreign forces, blame the poor, and see to it tat the properly connected people make money of the crisis.
And tax cuts. Don't forget tax cuts. It's their go-to answer to everything, even when they will be totally ineffectual to the problem at hand.

There is never a situation where the GOP's answer won't be a tax cut.

Just a coincidence, move along.

China uses the virus as an excuse to shut down cities, especially Hong Kong, putting a stop to anti-government protests. Just a coincidence.

Panic over the virus causes a market downturn, hurting the U.S. economy, which benefits the democrat party who are more friendly towards China. Just a coincidence.
All of the above.

Globalism and open borders are here to stay. Trillions of dollars depend on it. All of that money owns the US government (all 3 branches). If you think that the US government works in your interests, you’re a fool.

Ideally you would want to find out it is in your community before it mysteriously crops up in a student at a school who has likely been passing it around to other kids in the school, and those kids to their families, for days.

They shutdown area schools now, probably closing the barn door after the horses have already escaped.

Democrats sent a comprehensive bill to the Senate that would address the real needs of working Americans going forward and McConnell rejected it out of hand. The GOP, meanwhile, as done ZERO in addressing this. They have nothing of their own to offer. They fiddle while the country burns.

This is going to get very ugly and Trump and the GOP will own it. Not the virus, but their utter and complete failure to address it and the fallout that results.
McConnell bailed and went home with Kavanaugh to participate in the swearing in of the latest rated unqualified/never tried a case federal judge

And another reason for not adopting the cheap and readily available WHO vaccine is making news:

Quote:
After it was widely reported that Tom Hanks and his wife were able to simply walk into a clinic in Australia with the symptoms of a common cold and instantly get a coronavirus test – which was positive – Americans are beginning to ask out loud, “Why can’t we get tested?“ According to President Obama‘s Ebola Czar (last night on Rachel Maddow‘s show), Ron Klain, Trump “privatized“ the testing here in the United States. Instead of taking the World Health Organization (WHO) test kits which are cheap and widely available all over the planet, and having them distributed across the country back in December, or January, or February when we knew this disease was spreading in the United States, Klain said that Trump has outsourced the testing to two big American companies, Quest and Labcorp. Trump’s head of HHS, Alex Azar, is the guy who doubled the price of insulin when he was CEO of Eli Lily company. Do he and Trump owns stock in these testing companies? Why are we refusing to accept the WHO test that the entire rest of the world is using? What the hell is going on here? https://buzzflash.com/articles/priva...ected-carriers

You have to understand, when people are saying "we don't test", they mean we are testing VERY little. It is really hit and miss, and it shouldn't be.

It should read "if you test few people, you have few cases", but we are posting on a board, not writing up something for a court case.

It was hyperbole. The use of which is common in informal message boards. The assumption is that most people understand that "when you don't test you don't know" is referring to our deficiency in testing leaving us blind in this situation.

Unfortunately, the amount of semantic parsing to score debate "points" that occurs here usually ends up meaning someone will always take you literally, even when they probably know better.

Hit and miss testing means the FIRST case we found in this area was a student who had been attending school for the past week, before symptoms showed and they got spot tested.

The seasonal flu doesn't send the whole country into a panic, shutdown work and schools and make the stock market crater. I am pretty sure if the vaccine can help with all of that and is better than the 40-50% efficacy of the flu vaccine that most everyone will get it.
