That's called leadership. Leadership isn't always saying "the buck stops here." Sometimes it's pointing the finger and saying "I don't take any responsibility at all."
That's not leadership -- let's hope you aren't in any leadership position.
If you identify someone is failing for whatever reason, you contact them privately and directly to address the issue and make suggestions.
That's what an adult does. Yes middle school kids would attempt public humiliation as a means to get someone to tow the line...but that's not leadership - -never has been -- and will never be effective.

There has got to be something else going on that we are not being told. We didn't freak out during the west nile virus, SARS, bird flu, ecoli, swine flue, cholera, ebola, zika virus, or nipah virus. But for some reason, all hell has broken loose over this corona virus, despite the fact that only 80 Americans have died. Its not much worse than the common flu, but the media has caused us to shut down society, hoard everything from the grocery stores, barricade ourselves in our homes, and start preparing for the apocalypse. Something is not adding up here. What is really going on that we aren't be told? There is no way that the corona virus can be responsible for all of this chaos. I would like to hear everyone's honest opinions, about what the REAL reasons could be, for why all of this is happening. Is it something political? Or maybe something even bigger that we aren't being told?
Look at Italy. Germany.
THAT is the real reason. Otherwise, why would Trump SUDDENLY be taking this seriously in his speech and rhetoric???

He was in denial about the crisis because he thought it would hurt the economy which is the strong point of his presidency. His first thought was his own self aggrandizement, not being a leader during a crisis. Anybody who understands this guys personality disorder knows exactly why his first response was to deny that anything was going on.
No one understands his personality or are you one of the few who has special knowledge most of us do not have? Can you tell us what he should have done? He put travel restrictions in place almost as soon as we heard the word: conronavirus. Since then he has restricted more and more things, approved more testing, an done whatever he could to keep us informed. His first response may have more to do with not starting a flow of panic. That is my opinion and the opinion of many we know personally who are in the medical field. Do you know something they do not?
1. We have a national government that flat out lied to us and tried to minimize this until it literally couldn't anymore.
2. As a result of the swift turnaround from "everything is fine" to "we're declaring a national emergency", people are scared.
3. When people don't trust their government, bad things happen - like hoarding and panic buying.
4. Every time Trump opens his mouth, he makes it worse. This crisis is highlighting all of his shortcomings. It's obvious that he's not someone who possesses empathy or even the strength to deal with this.
5. If he is removed from office and someone calm and reassuring takes his place, people's emotional and mental health will improve. This won't change the course of the virus, of course, but when people feel like someone capable is in charge, they'll calm down.
You are right up there on the level of Rob Reiner, not a great place to hang you hat...
