Cuomo and De Blasio don’t know how to handle this problem. You can’t lack balls in a situation like this when you’re governor and mayor of a state with a dense pop like NY. They think they’re in North Dakota.

How much worse will it get before NYers demand results and/or replace these do nothings? Having more CV cases than the rest of the country combined is not only dangerous but embarrassing.

A recent thread here on CD, “Cuomo for POTUS”. No joke.

NY is the 2nd largest state when it comes to the amount of international students that go to school here.

NY/NJ rank #1 for the largest number of Chinese/Americans - many of whom travel back and forth to their homeland.

None of this was taken into consideration.
We have to ban Chinese from coming here until they change their eating habits. This is the 21st century not medieval times where you eat anything that moves. They are eating dogs, rats, anteaters.Unless this stops we will get another virus. Believe it or not the dems were upset about Trump banning flights from China.

Perhaps he’s the only one that does.

He is no savior. He acted as fast s any leader in the country, and took it far more serious than Trump.

I'm pretty sure Cuomo didn't have the power to close the airports.

the number of cases in NY is the result of the cities density and status as an international hub, 2 things no other city in the rest of the country comes close to.

To attempt to pin the number of cases on him is 100% partisan excrement, period.

March 16 was a Monday, so if the Washington schools were declared closed on 3/14 and New York schools were closed on 3/16, functionally there was no difference.

Sure closing schools a full 3 days after Washington amounts to a giant blunder. I wonder how you feel about those states that have yet to close.

That is nonsense.

Several states with far fewer cases shutdown their schools before he did.

It took several teachers getting Covid-19, several teachers threatening to not show up to work, and a petition with thousands of signatures for him to make the decision.

The fact is you close the schools to stop the spread. He closed the schools late, which encouraged the spread. He owns that.

Yes Trump has stunk too, but Cuomo talking pretty doesn't change the fact that he made multiple blunders that has made this situation worse.

He had multiple dangerous actions that trump his pretty words. He is starting to turn it around, I will give you that.

He didn't have enough ventilators, nurses or beds for a world wide pandemic, I guess we need to blame all the governors. What exactly was the inventory supposed to be, does that fall on the states.

The point is that he highlighted the problems weeks ago, he didn't paint a rosy picture claiming this would be gone if the weather warmed up or when we found a vaccine in a few months. Yes he was late to the table as was everyone but he has been a voice of reason the last 2 weeks and he has taken action although its not going to be enough.

Hey genius, who has the power to close the airports? Hint, hint: airports and flights fall under Federal jurisdiction.

Particularly since Washington was advanced by a few weeks.
