Lol.... And here's exactly how "responsible" gun owners maintain the supply of guns in the black market.

What black market? This is an example of how free Americans do legal business in this country.....

No.

You used to be able to buy directly from the Sears catalog and have it shipped right to your house.

Yet mass shootings were extremely rare then too.

When will people figure out it's not the guns or the way they are obtained that's causing the problem?

I never said that. Why are you spinning my words? I said it didn't seem, based on a quick search, that it was a national news story until April 12.

I'm sure there are plenty of things unfolding at this very moment, not just in the US, but all over the world that are not national stories yet, if ever. I'm sorry but there is no way on Earth to know about every story going on in every part of the country, and that in no way implies a lack of factuality.

Jeese.. all this to distract from the fact that Breitbart has a proven trackrecord of strongly biased and low-credibility reporting
Keep slapping your forehead.

You're telling us the following should not have been national news?

April 11:
"Militias head to Nevada rancher's standoff with feds: We're not 'afraid to shoot'"
https://www.washingtontimes.com/news...f-feds-were-n/

April 10:
"Stun gun used on Nev. rancher's son in cattle roundup"
https://www.rgj.com/story/news/2014/...undup/7549205/
[The Reno Gazette Journal]

April 7:
"Nevada Rancher Threatens 'Range War' Against Feds"
https://abcnews.go.com/Business/neva...ry?id=23225314

April 3:
"Range war: Rancher stands defiant as BLM moves to impound ‘trespass cattle’"
https://www.stgeorgeutah.com/news/ar...r-blm-v-bundy/

Yet it magically became national news only mere minutes after the BLM released his cattle that it hadn't already slaughtered--on the 12th? With several hundred people standing around, escalating for weeks?

https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C...w=1180&bih=791

And yet the New York Times, as well as WaPo, still never published a word on it for at least 6 days after even that.

(emphasis mine)

Therein lies all the difference. Pretty sure most states don't require a permit to purchase long guns.

Private transfers are legal.

And they're legal by design.

Are you serious? How do you think people who aren't allowed to buy guns, buy guns?

We're going to have to agree to disagree that folks who can't pass a NICS check should be able to buy firearms. It has nothing to do with mass shootings. I'm more than twice as likely to die bicycling than from a mass shooting.
