Actually Trumpist's are the RINO's. They don't give two squats about 'Conservative ideals'.

Just a bunch of 'hop on the populist train' morons, IMHO.

In fact- it's the same ilk that grabbed the 'moral majority' in the late 90's, and then the 'Tea Party Movement' in the Obama years.. Just a bunch of feckless dotards that bounce around from one chosen pariah to another.

Trump will help everyone during this crisis. Whatever it takes, as much as it takes, we have an election this fall, let's all remember who led the charge back to normalcy. We can pay for it later.

If they manage to agree on some form of direct cash payments to "we the people", it will likely create inflation, especially if the supply of inventory at the stores can't keep up with any rise in demand. But it would give ourselves a chance to take advantage of the high prices by making those products in the USA again. Some of the things they are running low on are ridiculously simple. Face masks and TP... Cmon, don't expect me to believe we can't make money sewing together $2 dust masks (they don't even have to stop a virus, people need these for some jobs).
Ah, this is funny coming from you.

If an executive can make $20 Million dollars/year as opposed to $5 Million by moving production overseas, you bet your ass that's exactly what they'll do and exactly what they've done over the last 30 years or so, with little or no intrusion from the government. And according to the "libertarian" types, they should be free to do as they wish no matter who it hurts or how bad it is for the country.

Having some sort of national industrial policy where essential items are subsidized (or their outsourcing penalized) by the government makes total sense, but that's ideological kryptonite to the far right and "libertarians". Same thing with national health insurance. It's a policy that costs less and makes sense, but again....stick to that ideology. Government man = bad.

How will it create inflation? Some people aren't getting paychecks at the moment, and just getting $1,000 per month likely won't make up for their paychecks. Without it, we'll likely see stagnant prices or deflation.

If people bought weeks worth of stuff over the last week, what does that do to demand this week?

And then what if we start making them in the US again? More people go back to work in a different industry and can buy stuff without government assistance.

Kinda proves my theory that fiat systems are only as good as your faith in them. This retarded panic is showing everyone how vital, yet fragile, that faith is.

Every last bit of this coming economic ruin, and the subsequent government power grab that will make FDR look like a libertarian, will be based on fear, stupidity and lack of faith.

Wasn't a fan of Mnuchin but he's on it.

Trump wanted just a payroll tax credit and Mnuchin explained that will be handy in six months. Right now folks just need a check.

Mnuchin is trying to work with both partie.

He's doing what needs to get done.

Trump was correct all along. This COVID-19 crisis is exposing exactly the colossal mistake of the past few decades worth of steering the US into a service economy by using confiscatory tax rates and the horrendous trade deals that chased production capabilities and corporate profits off shore. It's going to be painful to fix those decades worth of mistakes, but it has to be done.

If corporate taxes were zero you'd still have jobs hemorrhaging due to labor costs in China and India. Corporate CEO's will continue to outsource until it costs them too much to do so. The only way this happens is with government intervention, they will not do it on their own and the magic of the free market will not lead to it. Even with this crisis and supply chains being cut, within a year they would all be back to having masks and toilet paper produced in China because it means more money in their pockets and short term profits mean everything.

That's exactly why I posted trade deals under current terms are a problem.
