To just panic and start yelling about throwing money out is insane.

It to me was something that was just thrown in the air.

People like us do not need it. People working from home do not need it.

High income earners do not need it.
People out of work or having hours cut need it.
Trump is trying to keep us voting for him despite the increasing truth that he will be voted out. He is trying to buy votes.

I kind of need it this month largely because I had this Spring Break week reduced in pay. As a school worker, I was not set to earn originally so I was planning to work a Spring Break camp at the school district I work for. It went from it's on to it's on with no field trips and venders, to it's on with only venders, to it's off to it's back on but no venders in literally the last week. I went in yesterday and found out because they only had 40 kids, I would only be in as needed this week. Should it continue next week, I'll be there, but allegedly classified staff like myself would actually be used for handing out reduced/free lunch packages and cleaning buses (this was the old plan before district told us that we would be paid and not that we would be without pay because we wouldn't be working.)

So yeah, I do have some need for it. My parents do. My mom is out of work right now unless she has to go in for cleaning like today. My father is retired and collecting SS (so is my mom) but both have tons of doctors. My mom is a recovering cancer patient and looking for her last of three surgeries in two months. She might have to put it off due to suggestions by the medical field. She isn't as bad as other cancer patients luckily and don't need chemo and radiation, but others do anyway.

I just worked my day off even though I absolutely didn't want to. O/T made me do it. I just got my yearly car insurance bill and am looking at some landscaping bills( dead tree) so, yeah. That two grand Trump is proposing ( assuming I get it since I work) would go towards that. Plus heating fuel is going to be due. If the government wants to give me some cash for once, I'll take it.
It won't be spent on bling or big screen TVs or new cell phones. I'm yelling at management to hire people but, you know how lackwitted bosses can be.

This will be the perfect test for the theory that people are so generous that taxing is unnecessary.

We always hear people on this board say "I'd give money to charity if I wasn't getting taxed" well, here's your chance.
If you don't need the $1000, give it to someone who does, there's plenty of people who do.

You can't stimulate an economy that's closed down.

Interestingly, Calif allowed a “buy-in” when I lived there. Calif IS expensive, but they take care of people/workers more than Texas (native state) and others.

I'm talking about trying to give people money to buy things when people are not out buying things. Except for food of course.

for once, we agree ... and it's probably the same "first" for a LOT of right-of-center folks with you.

With the way this "crisis" has been hyped by the Gov. and media they owe us something.
the "Government" does not owe us anything but liberty, opportunity, and defense.
