Lastly, why do many people who support Trump defend everything he says? Sometimes he says or does some really stupid things. This is one of them. We are dependent on China in terms of our trade, including trade in chemicals and drugs we may need to combat COVID-19. It's stupid to lash out at trading partners that we are dependent on just because of one officials lack of courtesy.
It wasn't the PRC. It was only one official in the PRC, speaking in social media, spreading a conspiratorial story that was widely disseminated in the US (and probably came from Russian troll farms).
It was a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry who made the accusations in English on his official government Twitter account.
Note, this guy has a history of attacking the US online (https://www.the-scientist.com/news-o...onavirus-67267), so the fact that the PRC continues to let him operate as he does (and I don't recall any PRC leader coming out to condemn the accusations, which is damning in itself) is telling.
I also note that Twitter is banned as a general matter in the PRC. Only official government communications departments/agencies are allowed to use it.

And China is dependent on us. They saw how damaging President Trump's trade war was, which is why they had to come to the negotiating table after claiming they'd hold firm.
it originated in china and was concealed from the rest of the world by the chinese government, which silenced and imprisoned journalists who tried to inform the rest of the world.
I think it's terrible that he called it the Chinese virus.
Not because I give a horsepile about being pc, but because there are some real dumbasses out there who could easily be misled into thinking only Chinese people can get the virus.
And in turn, those idiots would ignore necessary precautions and put others at risk.
The whole world is paying the price for chinese filthiness.
Chinese virus.
Kung flu
Keep on saying it!
I get why people are mad at China for this virus. This didn't just happen in China. It was a very predictable outgrowth of 1) the unsanitary conditions at China's wet markets and 2) the popularity of eating wildlife. This has been well documented:
But, calling it the Chinese virus isn't productive. It distracts from the effort to end the stop the global pandemic. It also implicitly blames all Chinese people (and even Asian-Americans), the vast majority of whom are victims of the virus.
So as much as it feels good to vent by calling "China Virus", we need more productive efforts:
1) a global effort to end the pandemic.
2) and when this is all over, a concerted global effort to push China to clean up its food system.
Anyone offended by calling it the China Flu or something similar must be a snowflake looking for reasons to be offended or a CNN reporter looking for reasons to bash the President.
I wonder what these idiots call the Spanish Flu?
The same people are also offended by "Islamic terrorist" and "Mexican drug cartel" and "black gang". I'm of partial Chinese descent and Trump is referring to the nation of China, which I as an American am not part of and have nothing to do with. My father and his family left there to escape communism and socialism and they're all strong Republicans and Trump voters. The Chinese government oppresses its own people including Hong Kong, which has a puppet government controlled by Beijing and steals American secrets and jobs, and props up dictators around the world like Kim Jong Un, Nicholas Maduro, the Castro brothers and Assad.
I'm sure Bernie loves Communist China though. He really enjoyed the old Soviet Union which is what Communist China is modeled after in its government apparatus and internal politics.

Actually, calling it “Chinese Virus” is unfair.
A better name is Kung Flu.
....and isn’t it interesting, when the first report was revealed through the media, it was announced they were evacuating Americans from the affected area in China, flying them back to the U.S. so they’d be “safe”. That was the stupidest thing they could have done; their safety came first. This is primarily how the virus was spread to the U.S., particularly to Washington state.
I would have 100% agreed with you if China had not started spreading rumors that the US military is behind the virus and then letting it bounce around the Chinese internet without censoring while they scrub everything else clean with rigorous filters.
So,
Do you support China's position? What are your thoughts on that?
Why would the US allegations be racism but the Chinese not?
Except there are plenty of people in China not responsible for the bolded, and plenty of people in other parts of the world who descend from China and also aren't responsible for the bolded, and those groups deserve the consideration/respect that the poster you were replying to above pointed out.
I lost my regular/non cellular connection for a bit while trying to post the above ^^^^^ and, in the interim, posters on both ends of the spectrum have served to illustrate 'the who' of my point, and only a limited number of people would even have access to make the accusation.
