And its because of liberal Democrats and the globalists in Washington that we are so dependent on China's industries, instead of making more things here at home. Its the Democrats who unfair trade agreements sent American jobs to China and to other foreign countries too, to the extent that there's hardly anything made in the US anymore.
The remaining blue collar industries in the US, like oil, petrochemicals, coal mining, and natural gas drilling are all under attack from the left. The left would have us dependent on the Muslim nations, Russia and Venezuela for our energy needs too.
A lot of Trump's clothing line products were made in China. Then again, he was one of those liberal Democrats and globalists before taking office.
Natural gas drilling is more under attack from the Progressive Sanders than Biden, largely for environmental reasons.
The world has certainly learned a hard lesson...goodbye China..this is going to backfire on all fronts that is why they are trying so hard to hide critical info and blame everything on everyone except them. The money we saved on cheap labor has just cost us 4 times more...why the hell we source most of our medicine ingredients from this dishonest and disgusting country? It's time to start making things we need here in our own backyard.
In this context when Trump said Chinese he was referring to Communist China the nation, not ethnic Chinese people elsewhere. So when you Democrats criticize "Russian meddling" or "the Russians" do you mean every person of Russian ancestry? I happen to be of Chinese descent on my dad's side and we have no love for the Communist Party and we are strongly proud to be American, and we are strong Republicans and Trump supporters. They left China to escape from communism and socialism, people like you, Bernie, Biden, AOC and Pocahontas want to introduce communism and socialism to the USA.
I'm not a Democrat, nor a Liberal, and I didn't vote for Hillary, and I didn't vote for Trump.
Criticizing Trump doesn't make someone a Democrat or a Liberal.
It doesn't make anyone anything other than someone who criticizes Trump.

Except I'm not enraged, I'm not a leftist, and I'm not a Democrat.
People who fit those categories may be leveling the same criticism of Trump that I am on this issue, but that is irrelevant re my fitting any of those categories.
If you and Tom were confident in your feeling that criticism of Trump is invalid, you wouldn't care who criticized him. You would internally dismiss any critic as invalid and ignore any critic. The criticism only bothers you/gets under your skin because you know it is valid.

I'm not a Republican either, but think about this...
Trump supposedly has a 95% approval rating among Republicans. That means 5% of Republicans don't support him. That 5% might upset/try the patience of some of the other 95%, but I doubt many among the 95% would classify anyone among the 5% as "enraged leftists".

Trump can call it anything he wants. Who cares if it could be offensive to anyone. While I don't hate a person of Chinese descent, I despise their government. They are no friend or ally to the United States. F them if they don't like to hear us call it then "Chinese virus ", from the beginning they tried to keep this covered up and I still don't think they are being completely truthful.
Lastly, why do many people who support Trump defend everything he says? Sometimes he says or does some really stupid things. This is one of them. We are dependent on China in terms of our trade, including trade in chemicals and drugs we may need to combat COVID-19. It's stupid to lash out at trading partners that we are dependent on just because of one officials lack of courtesy.
The Chinese Regime needs to be called out on how they handled this epidemic. The world needs to reassess how it views and does business with China. Calling it anything but a Chinese disease is letting China off the hook for the mayhem it has caused the world. Officially and from now on the rest of the world should be calling it by its name, the Wuhan Virus.
