His cult is, of course , going to spin this as Trump finding a miracle cure, just like they spin every other questionable thing he says or does, but we have to take that with a grain of salt and rely on the people who do this for a living and who know what they are talking about.

Let's face it, Trump does not exactly have the best track record in the telling the truth department. Generally, if you take what he says and turn it around 180, you are pretty close to the facts.
Are you saying we should do nothing as clinicians hive up mounds of data and write reports?

I agreed with you, up to the last 5 words. This is about lives, not the freaking economy.

The limited clinical trials indicate some advantage in infected patients there are downsides with blessing broad use. If someone is in the late stages there is probably nothing to lose, the doctors can make that call.

Pretty fair article on the tests.

But the doctors' opinions range from "It is safe and it might work" to "It is safe and it does work". The only issue is making sure that the drug -- as a valuable and limited resource -- is not misallocated. As production increases, however, that will be less of a concern.

It's an almost century-old malaria drug. Would you rather die while clinical trials are moving along at a glacial pace?

If the man in the moon is going to feed us all, sure. Or maybe Biblical manna from Exodus.

Default Florida man with coronavirus says drug touted by Trump..hydroxychloroquine.. saved his life

Rio was critical, could not breathe, said goodbye to his family.....doctors said there was nothing more they could do for him

Asked his Dr about hydroxychloroquine..Doctor said the usual blah blah...no trials, no testing, not approved
....talked his doctor into giving him hydroxychloroquine anyway....IV......what do I have to lose

woke up at 4:45 am....... “like nothing ever happened.”......"He’s since had no fever or pain and can breathe again."

“To me, there was no doubt in mind that I wouldn’t make it until morning,” said Giardinieri. “So to me, the drug saved my life.”
