Basically the whiners want to double their pay. Do you agree or disagree they should get Hazmat pay. if you do agree should Doctors and nurses also get Hazmat pay. And what happens if employees at other grocery chains follow suit. Should government officials step in and force them to work.

Amazon faces another potential workplace disruption Tuesday as some employees have planned a "sick out" over demands for better conditions including double pay because of the hazards of working during the pandemic.

Doctors and nurses go into the job knowing it can be hazardous. Grocery store workers do not.

My cousin works for Safeway and, without asking, they increased his pay by $2.00 per hour and coded it "Hazard Pay." At this time, they are considered essential and they are customer facing all day long. All the things we are told not to do.

What's wrong with you?

Double the pay...who do you think is going to end up paying for the increase. Do do you think the average person can afford that increase especially now where many have been laid off!

Do you realize how ridiculous you sound with this statement when you consider it’s Whole Foods?
The “average” person does not shop at Whole Foods.

And really, most of this is happening at Amazon (which does own Whole Foods) but probably putting Whole Foods in the headlines makes it sound more "lefty."

Maybe Jeff Bezos can cut his pay? Or the shareholders can takes less so workers on the front line can earn more. Several CEOs are doing this right now.

As said, average people don't shop at Whole Foods anyway.

Let them strike. There are plenty of people that would be glad to work there right now.

Then it gets passed along; that's the way of the world. But sorry, I do feel these workers are going above and beyond and putting themselves at a higher risk. If Amazon has to increase it's prices, then don't buy from them. You can get necessities at any other store.

So your premise is that the front-line "essential retail" workers should take one for the team, so you can have your organic quinoa? Honestly.

Then what?:
1. Everyone is in this together. I think the usual Trump-base response to you would be "if you think it's such a good job, go apply at Wholefoods, I hear they are hiring".
2. Yeah, people should get whatever PPE they need to be able to safely return to their families. Of course it needs to be prioritized, doctors first.
3. If safe conditions can't be guaranteed, then maybe we scale back food options. Is that what you want?
4. I was already on record that yes, the gov't should get involved if the food supply chain is at risk.
4a. Since you guys are now so in favor of Gov't handouts, maybe the Gov't should supplement the grocery pay.

Honestly, you sound ridiculous calling people whiners because they want to be safe. Aparently it's true, some lives are not as valuable as others to you.

Our country would be better off if they let people like you get their way. I doubt you'd last a week.
