What is everyone opinion here on shelter in place that is currently happening in California? Are anyone here surprised that Californians rolled over so easily? How is this not violation of the 1st amendment freedom to assemble?

Its not just CA. People are now being encouraged to snitch on mass gatherings. We have become the soviet states of america in a matter of days over what amounts to the flu.

I see you have been living under a rock these past few weeks.

As you can see we are in a Pandemic.. Paaandeeemiiic.

Many countries around the world are taking measures to prevent the spread which would result in hospitals being overwhelmed and more deaths.

The point is to flatten the curv as much as possible:

Protecting our most vulnerable citizens.

We still have groceries and hospitals open and pharmacies aswell. You can still go out and run, but not go to the gym.

Right now assembling people in one area is not recommended unless you wanna win the Darwin award or corona challenge...

Good move by Ca.

I would support a similar move by all states !!! Bend the curve or bury more people than necessary !!! That's the choice !!!

Its up to the governors of each state to make the decision !!! Not all and maybe not most will do it and to be fair it may not be necessary in some states !!!

I must been living under the rock as I can't find any information on when Martial law by federal government been declared. Can you please help me out with that information? That is basically only way government can take away our basic constitutional rights which 1st amendment happens to be part of. California banned any assemble at all, and not just "not recommending" .

It's apparent there are still many ignorant people out there who do still need to see it. But you're right, if people haven't gotten it by now they are probably simply too dense for reality to ever reach them. Like the OP of this thread, apparently, who has no clue, even now, what a pandemic is or how it can devastate a population.
