I don't know... I'm not mad at them - especially if they paid for it.
Kinda of tired of people telling other people what they should and shouldn't do and how they should live their lives. That includes those who are rich telling others what they should and shouldn't do.
To me - it would make no sense to sit there and do nothing and possibly infect others if you have an over abundance of resources to find out if you are infected or not.
Now if they are taking tests for free, then you would have more of a point.
When did we as a society develop the ridiculous notion of certain people as “influencers”? Just because someone can throw a ball through a hoop (not unlike a trained seal) or act (pretend to be someone they’re not and say things that others wrote) that their opinion on unrelated topics is somehow more valid than our own? Or that the products they’re being PAID to showcase are worth more?
People needs to see these overpaid, egotistical phonies for what they are (and are not) and learn to think for themselves. Let’s stop giving them a platform outside of their trade from which to espouse their nonsense.
That’s right, but keep supporting the party that gives them more tax breaks because surely that will trickle down to you.
Actually, it's the Dems who are pushing to repeal Trump's and the Republicans' new $10,000 SALT deduction cap. Why does that matter? Here's what happened with the 2017 tax cut:
Quote:
"A $1 million-plus wage earner came to her tax preparer last weekend to see what the Trump tax cuts, which went into effect for the 2018 tax year, would mean for her tax return due April 15. And boy, was she disappointed. Last year, she deducted $245,500 in real estate taxes, state income taxes and personal property taxes. This year her deduction for these state and local taxes was limited to just $10,000, because of the new SALT cap.
“It’s a real hit,” says her tax pro, Claudia Hill, an enrolled agent in Cupertino, California. “This is why people who have this kind of situation are screaming.”
...To fully benefit from the reduction in the top income tax rate, you’d have to live in a state with no state income tax, says tax lawyer Kaye Thomas, who figures that California’s highest earners are facing a federal effective rate that’s 2.7 percentage points higher in 2018 than 2017 because of the interaction between state and federal taxes."
The SALT tax deduction she took on her US 1040 for...
2017: $245,500
2018: just $10,000
The $235,500 over $10,000 she could no longer deduct in 2018 and going forward was taxed at her marginal rate, likely at 37% which would be an extra $87,135 in federal income tax. That's NOT a tax cut; it's a tax INCREASE on the top 1%.
To further illustrate the point, examples:
$150,000 household pays $15,000 in SALT.
Deduct $10,000. Taxed on that extra $5,000 at 22% marginal tax rate = $1,100
$1.5 million household pays $150,000 in SALT.
Deduct $10,000. Taxed on that extra $140,000 at 37% marginal tax rate = $51,800
There's a 10 times difference in household income and SALT between the two households, but the top 1%-er is paying about 50 timesmore in extra tax than the middle class household due to the new SALT deduction limit.
Understand? But the Dems want to repeal the $10,000 SALT deduction cap and reinstate the formerly unlimited deduction.

I agree with much of your post... I just think they should be allowed to reasonably protect themselves as they see fit.
Seems like you should be backing me on this - as these are people who are freely protecting themselves as they desire.
It has nothing to do with power. They are leveraging their resources and their name to their advantage. That's what would happen in a society without government - and it would be much more prevalent than some athletes getting access to corona testing.
If anything comes out of this chinese virus situation, I hope it's that people finally get over their fascination with celebrities and professional athletes.
There's finally some backlash against vapid celebs posting pics of themselves with designer N95 masks on their private jets fleeing the virus. Hello Gwineth Paltrow. Or pics of themselves in exotic places with captions like "Sheltering in place". Ugh.
There's no sports on tv or new movies right now, and I for one, don't miss it at all.
While you all argue Blue vs. Red, the top 1% are crushing you all. Here it is again. Just a friendly reminder from the "Save the 99% Coalition".
Save the 99% coalition does nothing when the coalition support the 1% who just telling you what you want to hear and do exact opposite.
Just look at Sanders, he used to call on max tax on millionaires and billions, and since now he is a millionaires, he dropped the millionaires.
Lenardo DiCaprio on his foundation stated the mission is for the long term health of mother Earth, yet he flew private jets. But he is telling you and me if we do it, it is wrong. But it is ok for him.

Their "resources and name" are products of the government. Corporations are a statist fiction.
When you have all that many and power, us peasants are often overlooked and play second fiddle. Sad truth.
