Pittsburgh is in Appalachia and has a high crime rate. And not many immigrants are trying to go there.

California accounts for 40 million people in the USA. Of course it is going to account for a high raw number of welfare recipients.

Per capita, the states with the highest per capita rates of food stamp receipt:

New Mexico
Louisiana
West Virginia
Mississippi
Oklahoma
Alabama
Illinois
Rhode Island
Oregon
Pennsylvania

States with per capita lowest rates of food stamp receipt:
Virginia
Idaho
New Jersey
Colorado
Minnesota
Kansas
North Dakota
New Hampshire
Utah
Wyoming

According to this, there is plenty of representation among BOTH liberal and conservative states with the highest and lowest rates of food stamp use. California might have the highest raw number of food stamp users, but explain this. West Virginia is a conservative state in Appalachia. Wyoming is a conservative state too. What's with West Virginia having high rates of food stamp use, but Wyoming doesn't? Even further, liberal Virginia next door has one of the lowest rates of food stamp receipt. Oklahoma and Kansas are both conservative states. Why does Oklahoma rank in the top 10 for food stamp use, but Kansas is among the lowest? Why does liberal Colorado have low rates of food stamp receipt alongside conservative Utah, but liberal New Mexico, right below Colorado (by the way, Colorado and New Mexico both border Oklahoma) ranks very high in food stamp use?

And they have more people...So? Point being? It's goes on per capita not raw numbers, but of course you know that. What right wingers always do - lie and gaslight cause they believe people are stupid.

All those groups are mainly cultural and religious minorities. Cultural and religious minorities can still share the same hair and skin products with whites and share many similarities with each other that blacks share with no other races. Most of all, other minorities are compatible with whites and it shows in basic day to day relationships with each other. You see this whenever every female of every race is considered attractive and compatible, except black females. Physical and intellectual likeness is a huge deal in this world.

Think of it this way. War and the development of mass weapons, space travel, as well as the massive design and building of infrastructure is done by every race except for us blacks. Why? It's simple. Life and living doesn't interest in the same way as other races. Why are ( or maybe were) most blacks making big money in some form of entertainment such as sports and music? It could be mistaken for being highly social when actually it's because we are individualistic and socially protective. Not much patience for teamwork, not much exploration beyond our neck of the woods, but we like creative freedom and endless working on stuff alone. We don't view the world as others do and typically don't do well when forced to assimilate to other cultures.

As for the obvious differences. I can't think of any time that I've been able to distinguish any of the other races from each other as well as when the other black person shows up in the room. Arab, Hispanic, white guy from New Jersey..... They could very well all look alike. For the longest, I figured Freddie Mercury could have been Jim Morrison's biological brother.

We black folks are definitely the one minority when it comes to race.

I don't think being right winger or left winger has much to do with it. It has alot to do with gaslighting. California has the most people of any state. Of course it's going to contribute the largest number of those on food stamps. However, when it comes to per capita:

New Mexico, West Virginia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Alabama, Illinois, Oregon, Rhode Island, Pennsylvania. Those are the top states with the highest per capita rate of food stamp receipt. And it's a mix of both conservative and liberal states.

In the case of that particular individual you're dealing with, he doesn't like California or liberals. However, a bit of research shows that you can find 3rd world-like conditions in both the conservative and liberal states.

Depends on what they are. In Texas they lock you up for marijuana. That is ridiculous stuff. And snowflakes will never disappear. They can be found on both sides of the political spectrum.

The top 5 most free states (over all) according to this article: https://www.freedominthe50states.org/

Florida
New Hampshire
Indiana
Colorado
Nevada

Colorado, Nevada, and New Hampshire and blue states.

States that rank in the top 5 for personal freedom (victimless crimes, guns, tobacco, and education)
Maine
Nevada
New Mexico
Colorado
New Hampshire

Texas ranks 50th for personal freedom. The other bottom 4 include: Alabama, Hawaii, Arkansas, and Kentucky.

I didn't invent the one-drop rule. It exists to this day, btw. I'm not the person responsible for creating forms for checking one's race. I'm not the one who decides who, why, and how many of any race are going to live in my neighborhood or not.

You deny that red states are red mostly because of their history and demographics? The same thing - or lack of a particular demographic - has allowed CA to turn blue and stay that way as long as it doesn't have to deal with the same history and populations as Southern or Northeast states.

Yeah. It's why I said that. Right wingers always throw out California, New York to convince themselves they are "right" and liberals are wrong. They believe "conservatism" is the utopia way of life while at the same time ignoring the deep south along with Republican western states. Problems require critical thinking. It's way more complicated than this state is better than another state. All states have problems.

What's really happening cities are growing with rural america along with the old industrial areas of the midwest and northeast struggling and have been for decades.
