For people who cannot decide what to eat tonight because they do not cook and all the sit down restaurants are closed, what are the options really?

For many, ordering a Dominos death-disk is apparently a popular option. And with the surge in demand, so is the surge in the number of delivery drivers needed. Considering all of the layoffs that are apparently in process across our economy, one would expect that they will probably be able to fill these spots pretty rapidly.

Domino's hiring 10,000 employees amid coronavirus demand surge

Domino's will be hiring 10,000 employees nationwide in response to a growth in delivery demands amid the coronavirus crisis.

The pizza company is looking for part- and full-time delivery drivers, pizza cookers, customer service representatives, managers and licensed truck drivers for its supply chain centers and stores. The need will vary at each store.

"Our corporate and franchise stores want to make sure they're not only feeding people, but also providing opportunity to those looking for work at this time, especially those in the heavily-impacted restaurant industry," CEO Ritch Allison said in a statement.
The article goes on to observe that Dominos stock is down substantially. It is actually down 19.6% in since its peak on February 20, 2020 at 373.16. While most restaurants are being devastated by their circumstances right now, it might be that Dominos is one of the exceptions. For someone looking to make some money right now, do not be surprised to see Dominos recover some or all of that lost value very quickly.

We have pizza places here that are actually good, so I will do what I can to keep those and all my favorites open with my money. A few more months of this and you'll have nothing but chains that can survive, and most of those will probably go under too.

With the onset of GrubHub, Doordash, Uber Eats, ect... why do people continue to order pizza? Almost all restaurants are delivering now, so why limit yourself to pizza? Especially crappy pizza?

IF they mandate a complete lockdown, Dominos will not be able to deliver pizza either.

I saw an ad for dominos drivers yeasterday, they were claiming like $25 per hour, but the truth is, with pizza delivery, it varies drastically, you will get people that stiff you completely and not give you a dime and others that will give $10. tips.

If you want to make the most delivering pizza, go to one of the higher end pizza places, people that order Papa Johns, Dominos, etc are ordering pizza based on value, usually they are not the greatest tippers, on the other hand, people that will splurge for the $25. pizza, they are more likely to tip generously.

All in all though, delivering pizza is HARD on your car, lots of short trips, starting and stopping.

Your car insurance will also go up if you use your own car.(if you tell them).

That is a lot of dough for the Domino's price per stock share.

I ordered Panera for delivery tonight since they are waiving deliver fees, as are most delivery services. I'll try to do it once or twice a week for my favorite spots. We might go into our very favorite restaurant for martinis if it's still open this week. Tip your drivers well if they are out during this time bringing you food.

We live a rural area. Those services are not available. You get pizza delivery or nothing.

Great - more low wage workers with terrible benefits that we all will have to bail out.

This is basically wage slavery. Oh well, people cheer because it's a "job". I'd go for it after we have full universal health care.......but until then it's all BS as wage slaves can't even start to pay their own bills let alone for society itself.
