So to be clear, you think we should hand over a half a trillion dollars to the Republicans and trust them to spend it wisely and for the good of the American people so much that they shouldn't even have to tell us where it went? Would you feel the same way if the Democrats demanded something so egregious?

After reading, while the Republicans are in no way not guilty of BS with this stimulus package, the Democrats are fanatical about adding non related BS to it. Seems they want to push through a bunch of radical, election year talking points, hoping to either pass it through, or be able to blame the Republicans for not passing it.

The deflections, misinformation, blatant lies and distractions from the issues in this thread has made me realize that there are a lot more Russian bots operating on C-D and P&OC specifically, than anyone even realizes but their posts give them away.

Sure there are some rabid Trump supporters who would cheer as he shot someone on Broadway at high noon. They drank the Trump Kool-Aid and their opinions are valid. Wrong, but valid IMO. but there are many bots here right now who are posting here with the sole intention of creating chaos and deliberate misinformation so that nobody knows what the truth really is.
Russian cyberwarfare 101.
You can see it when they post unsubstantiated, outrageous claims about the democrats concerning this bill that are obviously unfounded lies. It is designed to separate us and then isolate us. It is designed to flood the thread with so much misinformation that no one knows what the truth is. It is like a Russian bot infestation.
This is my honest true belief.

This is what I am thinking, the longer they can make this happen, getting it closure to the election, the better. If they end up pushing through all their far left stuff, it will also be a sizable victory.

Leave it up to politicians, both parties, instead of addressing the issue at hand, they want to add a thousand non related things to it. If voters were actually responsible, they would see if the congressperson participated in this, and if so, vote them out next time they are up for election.

It seems the Republicans are all for a bill touting a "No Corporation Left Behind" section for Business, while they prefer a "Pull Yourself Up By Your Bootstraps" section for the Workers.

Nancy is insisting on an explanation for $500 billion "slush fund." It's a Slush Fund because McConnellMnuchin etc. won't say what it's for and don't wanna/need to say what it's for for 6 months! aka "just trust us"

Also, it ain't clear to me why it's a good-idea to give small businesses to stay in biz! Give a restaurant owner money and he ain't gonna re-open and hire ee's! - he can't re-open by rule/law! aka free $$$

It's a much better idea to give give waitresses, cooks etc. $$ so that they can eat! - and eventually return to work!

and no, BTW, I'm not a liberal/communist who only wants give-aways/hand-outs - I'm a retired small biz owner
If the restraunt closes they won't have that work to return to.

I agree with you. When the POTUS first spoke about coronavirus and did not feel it was an epidemic, Democrats screamed and their media puppets criticized Trump for his lack of action so he went full throttle. The Democrats are the reason people are scared to death and the stocks are plummeting. They are thrilled to blame the poor economy, unemployment and lack of preparedness in a pandemoniac on Trump, it was their only chance of winning in November.

Americans are suffering and they are blocking a Bill to help them for their own selfishness and stupidity.

list them..really...hmm

let's see... the total outstanding student loans is about 1.6trillion,

that’s more than the national totals for auto loan debt (1.28 trillion) and credit card debt (850 million
with the average student loan being 31k.. so writing off 10k for each and every loan is about 500 billion right there....

Quote:
Average student loan debt total per person: $31,172

you wanted the "half trillion" pork...right there is the biggest

but hey why not let's give a walk to all those that renege on their LEGAL CONTRACTS

Those "people"/Workers work for companies. IF the companies go under, the "workers" lose jobs.
Unemployment numbers went through the roof last week. IF the companies don't have the money to PAY the Workers/"people" while they are Sheltering in Place in places like New York State and California State and Illinois State, Tennessee State, Louisiana State ..... the Workers/"people" don't have any Money to pay rent, mortgages, medical expenses, buy food ..... LIVE.

The Democrats in Congress say they want more funds to individual Americans than to businesses. I say helping businesses is very important as most of those individual Americans the Democrats are pandering to are employed by American businesses (big & small). Save the businesses so individual Americans have jobs to return to after this shelter in place policy ends. Nancy already wrote and passed a Bill for extended & higher Unemployment -- now says she wants to extend that further 10 months. Plenty of time for that if necessary. She attempted to make it PERMANENT in her last Bill, just as she attempted to give Money to Planned Parenthood for Abortions.

Let's not forget that Nancy sent the US House home, McConnell kept the US Senate in session to work on a Bill to help people. Nancy flew back into Washington on her Taxpayer funded Broomstick to stop the Legislation that would have spent up to 30 hours debating a Bill. 5 Bi-Partisan groups spent the weekend working on parts of that Legislation. Nancy forced Schumer into STOPPING the entire process, because she has a "PLAN" to never let a Crisis go to waste.

We don't know for sure what the Leftist Plan is - I've listened to interviews all morning. One said she wants all the Money to go to the States that need it to cover their expenses because they are not able to collect taxes while people are not working. Bet you anything that it's the same as the 2009 Stimulus, which went to cover Union Pension payments and Union Salaries. Apparently Nancy wants an Infrastructure Bill in this Emergency Legislation, green energy funding and college loan forgiveness.

One thing is for sure -- whatever the Democrats are planning, it will be discovered. They won't be able to hide it. They are holding the American People Hostage over their Ideological Political Agenda.

This WILL backfire on them. It's a Naked Power Play that the public will not like.
The sheeple think it's great, but Normal People are not going to like it at all.

How interesting - you admit that the Senate Bill is NOT a "slush fund" for Corporation buy-backs and raises for CEO's .... which is exactly what the Leftists are claiming it is. You messed up by admitting that. Just as James Clyburn messed up with his "tremendous opportunity" comments and Nancy messed up with her list of Green Energy and Union payoffs she is demanding while she holds Citizens hostage for the Leftist Agenda.

They are gambling with your future to gain more power. The dems will pay the price in november!!
They are Arrogant and honestly believe that the Leftist Media will back them up as usual. That's a big part of why they are demanding that Major Media quit covering the Pandemic Task Force Press Briefings.
It's not just "gambling" - it's deliberate to cause as much pain as possible to the US Economy and Job Market. It's their only plan left to win Elections in November. They are already losing Democrat Governors over this Hostage Ploy and will lose more.
