The people who brought you free trade are forcing you to buy from Amazon and Walmart. As everything that is made these days comes from China. Did you know that most of our ingredients in medicines are made in China and that they have threatened to cut them off?

I don't use the stuff unless it was an occasional antibiotic, mostly just topical.
I deliberately support Walmart/Jet, etc. wherever I can as opposed to Amazon proper. Neither where I can, which is commonly.
I support tariffs.

Bezos should work for one week in the warehouse if he thinks it is so safe and the risk of transmission is so low. Only a coward hides in their 5th mansion while telling everyone else to get to work in the warehouse for $12/hr. I can guarantee you Amazon will still exist if Bezos takes a one week hiatus while Amazon would implode if they had no one working in the warehouse just for a single day.
Amazon warehouse workers average $15.60/hr.
Amazon's workers get decent benefits, even at just 20 hrs/week.
Amazon could shut down for 1 day, and pay all of their workers for that day, and we'd all be OK getting our packages a day or 3 later.
My working days are over and I’m doing quite well for myself. My concern and empathy goes out to my fellow Americans who are struggling make it through these trying times while the richest people in America continue to be selfish and self centered.
Then do something about it. At least the billionaires are giving them a job. What have you done for the poor?

The reason people VOLUNTARILY buy from Amazon and Walmart was, has always been and will always be: they are cheaper!
We Americans will never rebel against our overlords. It’s not in our nature. We are a nation of obedient workers.
We Americans believe that, if we just work hard enough and obey our masters, that we will be an overlord someday. We are a nation of temporarily embarrassed billionaires.
Jeff Bezos, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Michael Dell, Elon Musk etc. etc. etc. all worked hard and became billionaires.
If you worked every single day, making $5000/day, from the time Columbus sailed to America, you would still have less money than Jeff Bezos makes in a week.
I don't think you've got your math right. You'd have made $949MM.
His salary is a pittance, though yes he has the ability to sell off stock. He sold 3B of it in in the fall.
AMazon generated 10B in profit last year. He owns 12% of Amazon. So, if he took "his share", that'd be 23MM per week.
if he made 7% annually off his net worth, he'd get $148MM a week. He'd have to physically earn 45% annually on his net worth in order to "earn" the same thing in a week.
Well if they didn't they wouldn't continue running their business.
Now I'm not gonna say billionaires are all evil, and poor are all good..
But lets be honest, you money runs the world, and can buy influence. Big companies take advantage of countries in poverty and deplete their resources.
The poor act more on desperation.
The point is that, it's up to the people to keep billionaires in check. They run s* but we make their s* run.
Once the people get angry enough, it's guillotine time. Though billiares can just send death squads to take care of the problem...

Free trade is not exploitation. It is win win for all the trading partners.
Now when the government starts to meddle with the business, it is no longer free trade, and or forces the business to bribe the politicians for favors.
All the things you said, you must thank the government for them.
You cannot provide even on example where a company can exploit others without the help of the government.
