Most countries are not prepared for a global pandemic of this magnitude.
Singapore, a substantially diverse population of 5.6 million, with the highest population density in the world, is one of the few exceptions. ( you posted a link yesterday, I think)
It starts with testing. If positive, off you go to the hospital, regardless of symptoms.
Your contacts are traced and put under immediate quarantine. Bed checks are performed to make sure people stay put and serious consequences imposed for those who don’t comply.
What is possible in a small risk adverse and compliant culture is not possible in the US.
The problem is most countries are collectivist based cultures. The US is distinctly not collectivist. Rather, we are individualists. Anyone that tries to say we should be collectivist is called a Socialist or Marxist. This wouldn't work due to the DNA of America.
Tweet brag about testing more people than South Korea. South Kora is testing 1 in 170 people -- USA is testing 1 in 536 people.
It is per capita -- not absolute numbers that count.
And we know that and can process it.
Why does he set himself up like that. Just say the USA is improving the testing process every day and we hope to see the numbers show a flattening of the curve.

Because he knows that a large percentage of his base supporters won't fact check him or can probably figure out "per capita." That's all that matters. He doesn't care if you (we) know better.

Did he say we were testing more people per capita?
Trump: “What do you have to lose by trying?” And obviously they did.
obviously, people hear what they WANT to hear. Cause he didn't look into the camera and say "American people, try and find some HCQ or CQ. Heck, find something close. What do you have to lose by trying?"
Really no idea? Even after the wife was interviewed and explained how the got the idea?
Trump has medical professionals and scientists on stage. He should leave explaining chloroquine to them.
and they did, right after. This couple, and any other idiots that randomly ingest substances, apparently didn't listen to the medical experts. Or even consult their own doctor.
You're probably right. What I don't get is that this virus is supposedly airborne for a long period of time. How does one prevent getting it everywhere you go then? Masks may help protect you but they are sold out everywhere. Not sure how effective regular masks are anyway. I stay in as much as I can but grocery shopping, trips to the drugstore, doctor's appts. are a necessity. If everyone avoids the first two would there be enough delivery help available? I doubt it.
This virus survived in the empty cabin of the cruise liner that was docked in Yokohama, Japan for 17 days (in a cabin with a quarantined victim of the virus) after the victim was transferred out.
17 days!
