Yep, you got that right! We are just more realistic that those things are not going to happen.

Quartermaster! Good idea!

U.S. Grant and Maj. Gen. R.M. Littlejohn were two of our best in that dept.

It’s illegal not to have health insurance. But even if he had it there is no real treatment for covid19 and it sounds like he would have died either way.

Speaking to reporters at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta, Georgia, about the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, which is spreading across the United States and throughout the world, Trump mentioned how much he enjoys talking about "this stuff." He attributes his previously unknown interest in epidemiological research to his uncle, Dr. John Trump, who used to teach at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. The president, who considers himself a genius, raised the scale even higher for his uncle, who he described as a "super genius

Trump said doctors he's come across as the administration tries to get a handle on the outbreak have been surprised about how much he knows about COVID-19. "Maybe I have a natural ability," he said. "Maybe I should have done that instead of running for president."

My data is from the international cruise trade group....data is too hard and, realistically, it's in progress so any of us trying to make sense is going to be hard.

We have to make some assumptions given similar populations in China and Europe that are ahead of us on the timeline. And, no, I don't believe in throwing out anything China says. They lie and mislead, of course...but not as much as our combination of critters.

We should probably default to 2% of over 30 populations as a Rule of Thumb for now. We're going to have much higher numbers in LA and other poor areas where obesity and such are rampant and health care is poor.

I think we are trying to guess the number of grains of rice in a giant jar

Because someone can test, but right after still get infected somehow.
Large scale testing almost everywhere provides some useful background data. Over time IMO this will end up being done before the year is out. Maybe even more important will be covid 19 specific antibody screening of our populations, when that test is available.

Illegal? Are you talking about the fact there is a tax penalty if you don't?

Not having health insurance would cause someone to wait too long (that's a fact) and to not have regular preventative care. In this case it seems possible that his breathing was becoming constricted and that his cardiac arrest would be due to lack of air.

Right in your link they did give him specific instructions. It helps to read the story you are complaining about.

“He didn’t have insurance, so they did not treat him,” Parris said in a video posted to YouTube. The staff at the urgent care facility told the teen to try the emergency room at Antelope Valley (AV) Hospital, a public hospital in the area, according to the mayor.

I have gone to urgent care without insurance. You pay a fee, usually $100 or so or they tell you to go the emergency. And they don't treat heart attack victims. They are used mostly for worksmans comp injury cases, car accident cases and those with the sniffles. They often do not even have doctors, just nurses. It is not a doctors office. That is why they are called urgent care. But its not the kids fault that he did not understand that.

A kid -- 17 year old -- shows up at an urgent care and they don't say -- you know what we can't take you but you need to go here now -- or make the call to the Covid-19 screening people or something.
As I said above, they did tell him to go to the local hospital.

Yes. It’s the same thing.

Yes.

It's called being a Trump supporter. EVERYTHING that goes right is because of Trump. EVERYTHING that goes wrong is anyone but Trump's fault.

They are detached from reality.
