If you are under 50 and otherwise heathy, you have a 15% chance of ending up needing hospital treatment. Which would be fine but for the fact that hospitals are going to be overrun. So good luck with that.
I assume you mean a 15% chance of hospitalization IF you contract the virus?
Note from Site: "The Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME) is an independent population health research center at UW Medicine, part of the University of Washington, that provides rigorous and comparable measurement of the world's most important health problems and evaluates the strategies used to address them."
Thoughts/opinions?
Interesting. I assume there's an operating assumption that the virus is seasonal hence the steep drop off in fatalities during the summer months.
That could be a blessing IF social distancing measures remain in place. If not, we're likely to see another wave in autumn.

Complaining, yet per the Detroit Free Press article, Michigan has yet to request a disaster declaration from FEMA. It is protocol, you ask, as a way to receive. All hat, no sense.
From the OP’s article.
Quote:
Michigan's Thursday request for a disaster declaration came one day after the Free Press revealed that Michigan had not yet made a request to FEMA, at a time when several other states had already had their requests granted.
Current confirmed cases in NY is ~44.5k or about 46% of the total country (97k) NY rate of infection is currently doubling at 4 days. Which can increase the number of needed ventilators very quickly. As of reports today:https://fivethirtyeight.com/features...ix-everything/
There are 16,600 ventilators in stockpile reserve. Should these not be distributed at the current level of need at locations? If it was done that way, NY would get 7,600 ventilators. While still short at least there is some methodology behind it, and justification to the limited amount.
DeSantis actually thinks that "asking" people who visit here...to isolate - .he's adding areas:
"Travelers from New Orleans and other parts of Louisiana must self-isolate for 14 days. Checkpoints will also be used on the roads coming into Florida."
The ultimate piecemeal too-late "ask". Perfect example.
He is only doing this because some Floridians in the panhandle got frightened and asked him to. Meanwhile, literally millions are coming and going to Florida as a whole.
This will do ZERO.
