You guessed it, the good old USA. Mitch McConnell was so afraid that sick leave would become permanent that he was willing to waste precious time stalling the Corona virus bill.
I haven't posted for a while because so many of you are so hopeless, but isn't it time to get rid of these dinosaurs?
Those Republicans represent their corporate donor's best interests not the workers. But many workers will vote against their best interests even while unemployed. They will be told and believe the corporate propaganda that having sick leave means no more jobs for them.
How are restaurants and small businesses that operate on small profit margins supposed to provide extended paid sick leave without going under?
I'm not saying it's not a good benefit, but it's not practical in all situations and making it a law doesn't change the economic realities associated with providing that benefit.

Those same countries have unemployment and underemployment so chronic that they've had street demonstrations in reaction to it in their cities for 70 years now.
