Right lets not worry about those helper bees. Let's only support the real workers. Liberals amaze me in their ever present ability to defy their own cherished beliefs. It reminds me of the historical perspective of misplaced trust in an aristocracy that has no fricking clue about caring for the little guy

Let me get this straight. The school closes and you expect it to pay someone else’s ( contractor) employees to not work?

As if you care.
These workers are not employees of the school. They work for a business that contracts with the school.

When the Federal Government shuts down, furloughed employees continue to receive employee benefits and get back pay once the Shut Down is over.

Subcontractors get $ Zero.

OPs link make clear in the opening remark, these are employees of third party contractors. Nonetheless, it seeks to hold the school responsible because of its endowment.

Most schools, every level, public and private, sub contract for food and/ or cleaning services.

It is obvious many do not understand all charitable endowments are restricted funds and cannot be used willy- nilly. Donors imposed restrictions in how principal and interest may be used. Most donations restrict usage to scholarships and/ or student aid over long periods of time.

Can’t imagine any endowment permits funds to be used to pay employees of third party vendors to not work.

But let’s not allow facts to get in the way of a partisan rant.

Another thing I've noticed about right wingers. They only read the original post and then they respond. Anybody who who has read the body of the thread realizes that this has been pointed out probably 10 times.

Harvard? They're Liberal?

"Harvard University is a private Ivy League research university in Cambridge, Massachusetts, with about 6,800 undergraduate students and about 14,000 postgraduate students. Established in 1636 and named for its first benefactor, clergyman John Harvard, Harvard is the United States' oldest institution of higher learning.[7] Its history, influence, wealth, and academic reputation have made it one of the most prestigious universities in the world.[8][9][10][11][12][13]

"The Massachusetts Great and General Court authorized Harvard's founding. In its early years, Harvard College primarily trained Congregational and Unitarian clergy, although it has never been formally affiliated with any denomination. Its curriculum and student body were gradually secularized during the 18th century, and by the 19th century, Harvard had emerged as the central cultural establishment among Boston elites.[14][15] Following the American Civil War, President Charles W. Eliot's long tenure (1869–1909) transformed the college and affiliated professional schools into a modern research university;"

(My emphasis - more @ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harvard_University)

It started out to train clergy, & then became an establishment for the Boston brahmins. Neither grouping is necessarily Liberal. & of course, now it's a private Ivy League research university - which again, doesn't mean it's necessarily Liberal.
