Verbal backhand is not violence. It's someone coming up with the perfect bon mot that is relevant, nasty and in your opponent's face.
Obama's comments directed at Trump at the Washington Press dinner comes to mind as a perfect example.
A violent image is someone going on a LRRP, and setting claymore mines along a path the VC use. The second after you hit the clacker is a violent image, pal.

And we saw how China dealt with it....forcibly dragging people kicking and screaming out of their homes to stash then in quarantine....you want that here?? Really...do you?
I imagine you could control such things better in a authoritarian state. I expect, or hope at least, that most of us would not take that trade off. But if we're using that as a yardstick for success in keeping the infected numbers down, I guess I'd be wrong.

I also don't believe their numbers & I suspect tens of thousands have died than they are reporting.
My issue is with TRUMP and how he labeled this a Hoax by the Dems then went on to down play the seriousness of this.

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was blasted on social media Friday for her swipe against President Trump amid the growing coronavirus outbreak within the U.S.
Since the availability of testing kits has broadened in recent days, the number of confirmed cases in the U.S. has skyrocketed. On Thursday, the U.S. has reportedly outpaced both China and Italy with more than 97,000 reported cases.
Clinton took the latest developments as an opportunity to knock her former 2016 rival on Twitter.
"He did promise 'America First,'" Clinton wrote, referring to one of the president's oft-repeated campaign slogans.
