However I do think New Orleans needs to be quarantined too, many people from there have left the area. Florida is now checking cars at the border and Florida and Texas all require people from the immediate NO area to quarantine for 14 days and now New Orleans people are heading to other parts of Louisiana and we're very concerned. I understand the media optics of it given the blocked bridges after the Katrina aftermath but its necessary.
The Bronx is part of the mainland so while it could in theory work for Long Island and the other boroughs it wouldn't for The Bronx. Also on a per capita basis Westchester has more cases.

This is hilarious. Remember what Trump was saying weeks ago? It could be Cuomo believed him. Whats shameful is that Trumps made it clear that he values revenue over people, and in the last day also indicated that he values governors kissing his behind over people. LITERALLY. If they dont kiss his behind, he wont talk to them. And somehow you want to point to Cuomo? Thats shameful right there.

Bottom line however is this....its probably a bit late to quarantine the city, This stuff should have been done weeks ago, but our leadership is incompetent, and ignoring science. Its still worth doing probably (Id want to ask experts).

It needs to happen, now. In fact it should have happened weeks ago.

The nation should have shut down two weeks ago and we'd be half way through already.

Now we have this half ass rolling virus hot spot that is basically going to slowly ass **** us all over the next 3 months. The entire concept of leaving this in the hands of thousands of mayor's and 50 governors was destined to fail.

Much like not getting tests that saved China, SK, Singapore etc..

We had the playbook to beat this thing we just grabbed our nuts and screamed "Merica!" At it while half the country waved their Bible and crucifix in the air while bathing in holy water while screaming "liberal media!"

We are going to get what we deserve, if only the virus targeted the stupid exclusively.

Given how people are in the US, it would be better to tell everyone to get out and go around ass much as possible, and in turn they will do opposite and sit at home. because "the government cannot tell me what to do!"

Now, sure as water is wet anyone left in the area with means to flee will try to do so.

What do you think?

Quarantine? No quarantine? Good idea, but already too late? Good idea, but Americans won’t stand for it. Good idea, but Trump doesn’t have the authority to go through with it. Bad idea, for the reason outlined above or any other?
It’s illegal and immoral.

You don't know what's happening in China right now. It kicked out corporate journalists that might have made at least a cursory attempt at describing events there.

No criticism of the California liberals and NYC liberals all out and about ignoring or purposing flaunting the stay at home and out of large groups guidelines? Those young college kids on spring break are Bible thumpers?

Exactly. This shutdown only works if the whole country does it. Everyone is failing us. There are hundreds of thousands of human ticking time bombs walking around every American city/town right now.
