Voluntary payment with all the associated risks an adult makes vs being forced to pay into something one doesn't want. Government doesn't run out of money so it doesn't need to be efficient and has proven, by the results, it isn't efficient.

The Social Security Trust Fund is managed by the United States Treasury. i guarantee i would have done better with my 40 years of monthly investments than the government.

i had no choice other to 'invest' in SS for 40 years and neither will you.
