Each country will be judged by their response time and measures taken. The USA will be shamed by its delayed response and by the quality of that response. No excuse from the top will ever suffice.

Six weeks wasted!

Even George Washington in 1776 has an expedient and efficient response to a health emergency and it was called Smallpox...

Quote:
In response, Washington forbade refugees from Boston to come near the American camp in order to avoid the risk of exposure. After the British left the city in March of 1776, Washington sent in a force of 1,000 smallpox-immune American troops to occupy Boston in order to avoid further spread of the disease.

Hindsight is 20/20.

Trump was criticized and called a racist by the Left for shutting down travel from China and then a week later they actually admitted that his quick action saved lives.

6 weeks wasted? It would have helped the world if China had told the truth about the virus from the start.

What would you have done differently?

What would Hillary have done?

Keep in mind that if you are a Republican the Lefty media is going to trash you no matter what you decide.

We have fallen a long way and it is thanks to the Democrats and their never ending "never Trump" war on the duly elected President.

People would still be dying and we would have lost an additional 2 months.

People will remember that while this was going on you had half the country (dems) working on and soley focused on this:

Jan 21: impeachment
Jan 22: impeachment
Jan 23: impeachment
Jan 24: impeachment
Jan 25: impeachment
Jan 26: impeachment
Jan 27: impeachment
Jan 28: impeachment
Jan 29: impeachment
Jan 30: impeachment
Jan 31: impeachment
Feb 1: impeachment
Feb 2: impeachment
Feb 3: impeachment
Feb 4: impeachment
Feb 5: impeachment

Furthermore this was all the media was focused on too.
The only major news org I follow that had any half decent coronavirus coverage during this time was aljazeera

I always try and turn the other cheek and pity those that have so much hatred - but it's getting tough not to wish some of these people ill will. This is what continues to divide the country and why I think some people may lose it in the future.

On the plus side, we can learn valuable lessons from this event and respond better next time.

Here's what Nancy and the democrats were worried about in February...

Interesting to see you citing anything from that period and putting it in a positive light.

Following the initial reports from China; and anticipating multiple agency aspects of U.S. government would need a unified command structure; on January 30th President Trump assembled a unified task force to coordinate all response efforts across the totality of government.

At the time the task force was established, January 30th, President Trump signed a presidential proclamation, using his authority pursuant to Section 212(f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, temporarily suspending the entry into the United States of foreign nationals.
