Governor Reynolds will "own" whatever deaths happen on her watch from this day forward.
If the people are staying home why is it important to have the Governor issue a stay at home order ?

Iowa has 787 cases. A population of 3.1 million.
I think they'll be OK. You shouldn't worry about them.

The directer of the CDC here in Portugal said exactly the same 9 weeks ago. Those people seem to have no knowledge of history.

I wonder if France's number from yesterday was a typo, one can only hope so 23k new infections in a country of 70 million would be a lot.

If churches are businesses, they need to be taxed!
DeSantis is a moron and that is why he and Trump get along. At least most of the people around my area are watching church services online and have been for a few weeks now.

Probably because the WHO has an office in China and knows much better than us what is going on there

Regarding the numbers in China, what occurred to me and which I have not read about so far is that in a huge city like Wuhan with 11 million inhabitants there might have been tens of thousands of natural deaths during those 2 or 3 months it was locked down. In China the normal death rate is around 8 per 1000 per year. I.e. 88 thousand deaths per year in Wuhan alone. And since it was winter there as well, with the normal flu around, 20-30 thousand people might have died from other causes in Wuhan during the lockdown, which prevented normal cremations and funerals.

Just a thought...

Relative to it's population Iowa is currently one of the best performing states in terms of infection rates.
