I'm not sure what to think of "distance learning." I honestly think that a big component of my college education was the interaction with the other students and my professors in the classroom. I learned a lot from being able to interact with my fellow students in real time. I had my mind changed on many occasions by listening and learning from the people around me. Plus, there were real advantages to being on campus and experiencing an environment that put me in contact with a lot of people I would have never met if it weren't for being in the classroom together.
Online courses just don't seem to offer any of that. I think that's a pretty isolating way to get an education. What do you all think about it?
Ya, it's interesting because it is more convenient, but part of the whole going out thing is knowing people. Especially in college because you meet people that have plugs and career opportunities..
