It's getting too common where constituents seem to constantly be upset with their governors and threaten a recall effort over seemingly small issues ie. California hasn't stopped talking about recalls since 2002. Given what's happening in Florida, Oklahoma, and Tennessee, I'm wondering if their voters will take up the march to recall their governors for inaction and spreading misinformation about the virus that is hitting their states particularly hard.
DeSantis finally issued as statewide "stay at home" order after weeks of resistance. He reminds me of the mayor in the movie "Jaws," where he seemed more interested in tourism and the local economy rather than the threat that was becoming increasingly obvious.
Tennessee and Kentucky COVID-19 cases are being compared because of their contrast in actions. Finally, Oklahoma's governor was using social media to mock the virus when he bragged about dining in a packed restaurant as San Francisco started their stay-at-home approach. Mayor Bynum (R) of Tusla, OK took a completely different approach from his state several weeks before his state leadership came to accept reality:
Each elected leader reacts for different reasons and hopefully in the best interest of their constituents. The response in NY or my state of Mass has been certainly different than say a less densely populated state in the middle of the country and it needs to be but even then I think there has been over reach.
Hindsight during such a crisis is 20/20 and our President and state leaders are doing the best they can day to day and as these tough times unfold. We should back off on any criticism until the virus is under control.
I'd be for a recall of all New York, Washington, & New Jersey politicians asap!

Should a poll be conducted whenever a politician proposes any response to the virus? That way they could be re-called early ... without wasting time waiting for results.
In fact, politicians could automatically be condemned or re-called based on whether they have an "R" or "D" beside their name. That's what has been done (and is still being done) to Trump for the last 3-4-years.
Damn straight. But there are too many know it all type democrats here who would prefer the state was run by the worst democrat governor imaginable, vs a competent republican governor. A lot of the unionized workforce is like that. Democrat leadership has given us terrible, painful recessions in the past that cut very deep into our local economy, but most of the democrats here don't learn anything from it.
Moron was telling New Yorkers to get out on the town and go sit in crowded movie theaters. We all see the disastrous results, similar to Italy’s “hug a Chinese” campaign.
Next time, try not to be so obvious with your political bias.
Florida was one of the first states to close all of their schools and cancel all school activities.
34 deaths in Virginia and Governor shuts state down til June
Far more have died from the flu.
