Nope. They can just have a televised debate, sans audience, from a studio - like that did with Biden v Sanders. (IOW, Biden's not getting off THAT easily!)

You wish. Trump has been a true leader through all this showing lots compassionate yet strong and reassuring. Also not petty and bickering like the Democrats e.g. Pelosi, Biden, Obama, Cuomo, deBlasio, that airhead Democrat Michigan governor, etc. Most Americans that are not biased Leftists like you can see this for themselves.

Usually a party would insist on the convention. You get a bump from it. But not Joe Biden. He probably can’t even get up there and make a cohesive speech infront of 30,000 people. Also the Bernie Bros are gonna raise hell and the Dems don’t want the bad optics.
No need for a convention. Just collude and make Hillary the candidate like last time.

Heh. Meanwhile, the campaign ads have written themselves already. They will be focused on statements by Trump assuring us all that this virus will just magically disappear, we'll be down to zero soon, the Democratic and media response is a hoax to make him look bad, we'll be up and running by Easter.

All coming from the mouth of the president, unredacted and unedited.

Both parties will need to cancel the normal convention.

They'll probably need to run it like a television fund-raising campaign, with televised speakers, pre-recorded videos, celebrity entertainers, phone in callers, and some digital method of signalling approval. Perhaps an interactive web site that can handle a lot of traffic? I'm sure the planners can find a way to make it interesting for the audience.
