Back in late February I made on this forum this prediction:

Quote:
I would not be surprise if this leads to a world-wide depression. Euro-zone and China were already showing weakness before COVID-19 emerged. The USA was doing fine but we're not an island and we need Chinese, European, and Asian consumers to boost our multinational corporations.

If the DOWJ falls below 20,000 by years end, I will not be surprised.

Well the Dow fell below 20,000, to about 18,500 several weeks later.

Now, we're at a corner. The market can breakout or it can collapse. Not a hard prediction anymore, the market is going to collapse again under bad economic data, and I see a 15,000 Dow in our future by summer or fall.

I see a massive run on real estate prices. I see a recession that may even be a depression.

Thoughts?

I'm doing a fairly weak short (SPDN), one that won't burn me too much if I'm wrong, at least over a short period.

At this moment, staying in cash or shorting are the only safe strategies I would recommend.

While the worst is not over.

I believe the market will rebound and be at 25,000 by the end of the year.

I have bet a lot of money on that! But I think it will be sometime next year and Biden has to lose.

The DOW was at a similar level in the summer of 2017.

So ask yourself...

Are things about the same now as they were then?

Should be all you need to know.
