But, imo, it's our own damn fault for getting sucked in to cheap stuff. It's time for american consumers to
just say no to chinese made goods. But then, we'd have to be willing to pay more.

Paying more is fine with me!! Especially since American-made is far superior to the junk China produces!!

Canada didn't start H1N1 -- Mexico and USA saw the virus about the same time.

You might want to find a new source for your information.

I agree completely.

It’s not exactly “a free market” when you’re using laborers with no rights.

We are the free market and can make choices how we produce and shop.

I agree with you to a point. Americans hate change and refuse to even consider it until crisis time. That is a fact.

China isn't innocent. They kn ew they had real problems and under reported it. They also allowed their citizens to travel out of the country for Chinese New Year. Millions of Chinese many of whom were infected traveled and spread the disease. China absolutely owns that.

The blame? China owns a great deal of responsibility here. That said this pandemic was predicted decades ago. Large cities went through the motions of preparing, at best. NYC? A dismal failure in leadership both during this crisis and the last few decades.

Much like with 911, Bush got the blame. We knew that terrorists using airplanes as weapons was a very real threat, and we knew for decades. WE waited until we were hurt before we increased Airport security. Even now you have people crying about the inconvenience.

Individuals. All Americans had biology class in school. Due to past virus outbreaks we have all been told how to reduce our risks. Most Americans shrugged and said "I'll be alright." City dwellers are absolutely at greater risk and waited until the numbers became alarming before considering change.

NYC allowed buses in and out of the city long after they realized the city had an epidemic. We can't blame China or Trump for that.

Alabama refused any stay home until this Saturday. Florida allowed spring breakers.......blah blah blah blah.

Americans all over the country refused to take the virus seriously.

You can find others to blame if it makes you feel better.

The individual state governors shut down their respective economies.

But if it makes you feel better, blame Trump for everything.

Blame Fauci and Birx IMO.

China's oppressive government concealed this and retaliated against those who attempted to bring awareness to it. They utterly failed at addressing the initial outbreak, when it could have been prevented from spreading beyond their borders if appropriate actions were taken.
