Actually it might show that the curve is flat. A flatten curve will take longer to get the peak than a high curve.

Here's some more speculation.

Right next door in Mexico, things are completely out of control. They have no earthly idea of how many infections, hospitalizations and deaths are due to C19. And they've taken few steps to contain/mitigate the spread. Our poor testing program looks fabulous in comparison to theirs.

So...

We can expect their problem to spill across the border eventually and give America another dose of corona virus in the not too distant future.

Even if the current tightening of the border keeps foot and automobile crossings to a minimum, the commercial traffic both ways continues.

And that's a whole lotta traffic.

A quote from a good friend of mine.....

"The time has come that we begin to realize, that we are interdependent and must have compassion for each other, regardless of social status, to assure that we are safe, healthy and able to have a fulfilled life."

WTH? It was republicans pushing for these huge bailouts to corporations, airlines and 'fake' small businesses like Ruth Chris. And they wanted to give that money out secretly, it was only because Democrats refused to sign off on it that there is some oversight

And that's my point -- these protests, the beach discussion -- there are for show they aren't practical.

We have very real issues to address as we pass through phases.

I'm not getting that the federal govt. is there to support our communities during those phases.

I'm getting local governments are going to be on their own.

They just don't have the resources.

Or private industry -- and those costs will be passed down to us.

I wish we had a federal government that truly could put everyone together to hammer out some real solutions to the practical issues we are going to have going forward.

I'm sensing Trump is not all in on staying the course.

I know I'm biased...........no denying it. Hard to fight it....but I will say the guidelines for phases is good....the criteria should be adhered to -- and while we are waiting for all those numbers to plateau and decline -- let's brainstorm on how to be able to get back to work.

I don't think "increase" means what you think it means. Facts matter.
There were 131 new cases for South Carolina on the 19th.....and while we have had a decline since the 13th -- today is the 20th -- that's not 14 days.

America as a whole is compassionate.

But an entitlement mentality is an abuser of compassion. That mentality takes advantage of our generosity and produces an indignant dependence.

I think it's funny that leftists only see corporations as executives and suits, and don't stop to think about the millions of ordinary jobs that are supported by corporations and airlines.

Granted, I don't want to see big bonuses paid with stimulus money, but at the same time, I don't want to have to take an ocean voyage to travel to Europe. Pick your poison.

I've been thinking about whether hospitals will get the same type of bailout money as the corporations. One is certain that they have had to eat the costs of treating under-insured Covid patients.

Some hospitals in NYC: Harlem, Lincoln, Montefiore, Interfaith, Woodhull, Brookdale, Methodist, Jacoby. Most, of these hospitals, except Methodist, are in poor areas of the city. And if they go under due to strained resources, many neighborhoods, which already have huge medical issues, will lose their only convenient access to a hospital. I'm sure this will be such, around the country.....!
