the Chinese Communist Party is a planetary venereal disease. And Winnie-the-Pooh stand-in Xi spreads the Chinese clap everywhere.

The numbers game is always going to be a political game because governments need to score points against other governments. It also means blame can be directed at someone.

Again, this subject is causing more division between people and threads like this are only helping this division along. Same with arguments about political parties or Christians vs Muslims, communism vs socialism, etc etc. Basically, we are all humans with differing beliefs.
The CCP didn't predict this. They sounded the "ALL-CLEAR" for China. Idiot liars.

Most people don't wear masks any more, including Xi Jinping (he wore one on TV last month)

Even restaurants allow dining in already. However movie theaters are still closed.
I'm referring to the communist government, not the rank and file people there.

The people are getting hammered big time from the government.

No... this is about trusting China.

Are you going to buy products from China when you are unsure if the coronavirus is still rampant - even though they have claimed things are OK?

The Netherlands took 1.2 million masks from China. 600,000 failed. (link is Dutch, use Google Translate) That's a 50% failure rate.

For further reference...

Chinese government lying about coronavirus could impact U.S. business ties: Experts

The likelihood that the Chinese government is hiding the real number of coronavirus cases and deaths in the People’s Republic could spur U.S. industries to dial down their dependency on China for medicine, electronics and other products, experts tell the Herald.

There’s an overwhelming skepticism about China’s reported 82,000 coronavirus cases and 3,300 deaths, in a nation of 1.5 billion people. Chinese leaders have claimed coronavirus is only a problem in Wuhan and the Hubei province, which many experts doubt.

The highly contagious disease started there late last year and cases surged before the numbers suddenly halted at around 80,000 cases. Then any new cases trickling in were called “imported” cases from other countries.

Distrust of China’s numbers will put more “impetus” on American businesses to move production out of China, said Scott Harold of the RAND Corporation. He noted that has been the push from Trump’s director of trade and manufacturing policy, Peter Navarro.

There have been relapses in the USA. It's not surprising. Someone who gets the flu one year, can get it next year. Even sometimes multiple times in one flu season. I never had the flu myself, dunno why, but I have had friends and family come down several times with it a season.

So why we think that getting COVID-19 once, recovering, makes us immune forever? Why do idiots make these assumptions?

What are you talking about? For one thing, China makes most of the crap you likely buy. The USA is a large food producer, but also a large food waster and creator of mostly debt. The president actually has to order corporations to manufacture ventilators and PPE in the quantities needed to adequately supply the USA. This pandemic has actually highlighted many of the weaknesses in the USA that were a result of globalism, shortsightedness and greed.

But to USA was wise enough to ban travel from China in January. Had Europe followed our lead, there would likely be far fewer deaths than what they have experienced up to this point. China and the rest of the world was attacking Trump and America for doing the right thing. As it turns out though, stunts like encouraging Italians to hug a Chinese person to prove how not racist they are, had quite a bad outcome, and highlight the wisdom of Trump and his travel ban. I'd rather be considered a racist and alive vs what Italy is unfortunately going through.
