My theory is the quick severe measures that their government implemented nation wide were a significant contributor to the containment we saw. Add to it cultures that view society as a whole over the individual as more important and you get better compliance than the "me first" mindset in this and many western countries.

And none of those "Socialist" countries can lay claim to the fact of knowing and accepting thousands of their fellow citizens having died each and every year for decades without ANY access to healthcare.

I would agree that is a huge factor but the countries of Asia are seeing death rates lower by a factor of 50+ compared to European countries....I can't help but believe there is more to it such as something in their genetic past allowing their immune system to handle this virus better considering how much better they have done in control of spread and death rates.

Very possible. When Europeans came to America, they could handle the diseases that they brought from Europe much better than the native Americans.

They seem to be doing all they can in these countries with health care systems that have been failing for decades thanks to the executives running many of these systems and their countries horribly run, dysfunctional government.

Germany, Norway, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan have did a fantasic job.

I would not be against a more socialized healthcare system if the United States had a Norwegian or German health care system, but the truth is the government would run worse than many third-world countries.
Nearly 10% of Norwegians hold private health insurance.

Around 42% of all hospitals in Germany operate as for-profit.

South Korea, Singapore and Japan are not "socialist" countries in fact 3 of the 4 are considered first world countries the same as us, only China is a none democratic government and some source consider them 1st world. So I don't know what you are talking about..

My bad and apology for any misunderstanding

I inadvertently quoted your post rather than post by Mr Retired #20 in which he stated:

"The following is only my opinion:
Socialism as a viable solution kills more people than the disease itself."

Once again, I'm sorry for that.

Stopping people in the UK from walking outside for sunshine and fresh air, which is good for health, sounds like a prisoner in solitary confinement. Any dog owner can tell you dogs need to get out a minimum of twice a day. Is it healthful to clean up dog crap in your home everyday? Lack of common sense among bureaucrats.

My friend who lives in a semi-rural part of Hampshire says he feels like a criminal when he wants to take a walk. He has to leave home carrying a shopping bag to pretend he's going to the market. Then he drives a mile or two away and goes walking in the fields and woods with only cows and wildlife for company. It's how he stays sane and healthy.

As long as people 'social distance' they should be fine.

That is correct.

No human had immunity to this virus since it was just transferred from bats.

There are several factors in why the Asian countries are doing well.

1. The Asian cultures already were accustomed to the threat of disease living in close quarters and many of them already wore masks in public as normal practice.

2. Most of those governments are more authoritarian and/or the people demand less privacy than they do in Western countries. That makes mass coordination of desired actions by citizens (like social distancing) much easier to enforce in those countries.
