I say again, spurious correlation drives behavior changes which can cause real death-whether or not this drug works. Potentially to people who would not have otherwise died.

And the effect of that is that India, the worlds largest producer and producer of half of the supply in the US, has banned export of the drug. What will happen to the supply of the drug in Africa, where tens of thousands die of malaria each year? With no proven effectiveness, anecdotes are leading to a run on the drug which will decrease global supply and raise the price of the drug for those who need it most and those hurt the most will be the poor. Where is the net gain to humanity from that?

Daily Beast article.

It figures with impeached white collar criminal (Trump).
Unsurprisingly given the source, this is an unintelligent take. Hydroxychloroquine is a generic drug with a an expired patent that can be manufactured by literally anyone.... so there is no "the manufacturer".

You guys keep making yourselves look like morons due to TDS and im embarrassed for you.

Conspiracy theory by the anti-Trumpers. Why am I not surprised.

So you’re saying that a drug that can help save American lives shouldn’t be used because it will cause a demand on that drug, and people in Africa can’t get it for malaria? That’s a stretch. From what I understand, it is cheap to produce, and we will be able to ramp up production quickly to meet our needs. In the meantime, Israel has already donated 6 million doses to us, enough to treat 300,000 people, so we are covered for the immediate future. And I bet if Africans couldn’t get the malaria drug they need, both Israel and our country (once we’re up to speed) would donate it there as well.

So now its leftist opposition to the drug. You still need to go through a doctor for a prescription before or after this revelation, there was nothing preventing people from using the drug. This has received far too much attention from Trump and his supporters in a search of a success story.

All you liberals bashing Trump on this issue please raise your hand if you would refuse this medication if you were in the hospital with COVID-19 basically near death.

I would like for it to work so much I don't even care that Trump as an individual and 3 Trump trusts own stock in companies that make it. That's really saying something for me.

I will be way more enthusiastic when the clinical trials are completed. Apples to apples to see if it works and on which kind of patient is still required.

That's not really the point as the drug was already available and. This entire promotion by the White House deflects from the real work like the protocol developed by doctors below.
