For all these Republican governors that are hellbent on opening everything before the rest of the country.....

Are they thinking that Americans are going to just come flocking out of their homes to eat at dine-in restaurants and shop retail?

I live in one of the reddest of red states. No chance in hell that I'm going to be doing that.

Holy cannoli!

Looks like some people in Harbin have been locked in their apartments from the outside!

That's why I am to the point of "do it. you're cases will spike and most businesses will remain empty and still losing money, but now you have lost everything you gained by quarantine, and now you have to start over."

If I know my state is going to open, say May 1st? The week before I will do a huge shopping run, and then not go out for the month.

That month after re-opening will probably be pretty bad.

Owning a pulse ox isn't a bad idea for high risk groups and checking every day.

They did that in Wuhan too. When China locks down, they mean that literally.

While I do not think China is giving us full numbers, the fact is, they are probably lower than ours, their methods are much more draconian.

This is the stuff of nightmares really. Infections usually present w/ fever, even low grade ones, 99 or so. Well, in the "normal" world. This virus is strange acting. Prob. confusing many virologists, too?

I think they are giving us the numbers they have, which however do not reflect reality. Not because they are withholding something, but because they can only test so many of those 1.4 billion people. And those tests are not even reliable. I guess they have had, say, a million infections, but don't know about most of them. When someone doesn't show any symptoms or even die, why do a test on arbitrary people?

When someone is seriously ill and their lungs compromised, will their body regenerate the damaged lung tissue when recovering? Or will the person have breathing problems for the rest of their life? Similar to asthma, maybe.
