Maybe they should change their name to the 'Socialist Party'. Eric Levitz is socialist. The party is heading there, if it isn't there already. Just call it what it is and maybe it will make more sense.

How is giving up a daily starbucks coffee going to cover the difference? Legal paid workers would be around 3x higher. That's quite a disparity that some missed starbucks is not going to cover.

For local produce? How the heck you doing the math? Only three percent of all illegals pick crops. There ain't no HUGE difference if they have to pay workers more. Come on man.

California has a fifteen dollar min wage for fast food workers. You can still get a burger for a couple of bucks.

The "current reality" was created by the Obama Administration.

The should have refused to allow the Covidien acquisition of Newport on anti-trust grounds.

Had they done that, we wouldn't be where we are now.

Our biggest examples of actual socialism have come from the GOP. Bush bail outs having the government taking ownership interest in auto makers and banks. And now Trump with airlines.

socialism - a political and economic theory of social organization which advocates that the means of production, distribution, and exchange should be owned or regulated by the community as a whole.

I particularly like this statement:"Unlike many less-wealthy nations, the U.S. lacks the state capacity necessary to rapidly deposit cash relief into citizens’ bank accounts or cover the wage bills of struggling firms. "

The link for "many less-wealthy" nations hits this article: "Danish corona-hit firms get state aid to pay 75% of salaries" (https://www.euractiv.com/section/cor...5-of-salaries/)

The articles makes no mention whatsoever of how the Danish government will "rapidly deposit cash relief into citizen's bank accounts".

It does, however, include this tidbit:
"One of the wealthiest countries in the world, Denmark has sound public finances with low government debt partly as a result of a slew of economic reforms over the last two decades."

I know nothing of Denmark but the phrase "slew of economic reforms" sounds like what conservatives have been trying to do in the US for most of my lifetime.
The population of Denmark is less than the population of the county I live in (Harris County, Texas). Yeah, it’s a bit easier to have a good economy there.

Globalism is delusional. It's toxic to the world. Just like socialism. The goal of socialism is communism.

"About half of all crop hands in the United States, more than one million, are undocumented immigrants, according to the Agriculture Department. Growers and labor contractors estimate that the share is closer to 75 percent."

If you truly believe it is just 3%, this is much ado about nothing.

Two groups of authoritarian megalomaniacs with no respect for natural rights.

But rest easy, each team is sure that their version of socialism is the right one and if you don't agree...no worries...cuz you ain't got a choice.
