The US is picking on China to deflect from US failures and to stifle the future growth of China, who it fears becoming the leading economy and leading world power. I am not a fan of China. The way China treats blacks is worse than the way the US does. I don’t like how China is in Africa. I would never want to live in China. However, that said, they have clearly out performed the US in regards to handling the virus. The US people think China is lying because we are not close to getting it under control and it makes us look inferior to China.
The Chinese communist regime has lied time and time again as its people walk in lockstep in what that regime demands after again spreading disease through out its region, now, in the past, and now throughout the world. They have plenty of practice in dealing with pandemics, most of the world does not. And above all, they have most definitely cooked the numbers in regards to those in their country infected. 83,000 cases? that is a lie, most likely 2,000,000.

Obviously, this is important to you.
Why is information since 2016 necessary? It would be irrelevant.

The fact the Trump and his family had, and very likely still do, have operations in China in the first place is what's important.

Governments lie to their people and withhold information from their people. I would think that an authoritarian government has less incentive to lie as people don’t have a choice anyway. It’s not like they will be voted out of office for their mistakes and others. In a freer society, however, you have to use lies and fear to get the people to behave in the way you want by making them make choices based upon the lie and or fear....so that they can feel free.

If America will never be the same, for the worse, after this, and America blames China and seeks restitution and repair for the lasting/coming generational damages.....why are black people looked down upon for seeking similar from the generational damage caused to them from racism? Why are we said to have a victim mentality for responding in the way that America is now responding?

I can't access any of the links to see that actual poll questions and responses.

There could be a category surveyors could check that said "unsure", or "need more information"

Until I see the actual poll, I'm not going to assume that 23% said "no"

This poll is great news for Trump's re-election chances.

Trump has been anti-China since before he came down the escalator in Trump Tower to declare his candidacy for President.

Biden, on the other hand, has been pro China for a very long time. He was for the USA-China NTR (normalized trade relations status), and for the WTO (World Trade Org) China agreement.

Biden's votes/positions cannot be undone. The evidence trail is clear, and its deep. Biden is clearly pro-China. Oops!

This is actually the inverse of reality. In an authoritarian society, the best way to keep people content or happy in lieu of "freedoms" is to make them believe that the government is a bulwark against outside forces which would seek to destroy it. Also, the leaders of authoritarian nations tend to be egotistical and would view any reporting on negative incidents in the nation as a denigration towards their ability to lead.

The press in China is state-owned and has an incentive to keep everyone here happy and believing that it is a fountain of progress and prosperity while the rest of the world is a terrible place, and it generally does just that, more or less.

The press in the US is privately-owned and for profit, and so has an incentive to keep people tuned in. To keep people tuned in, it's more effective to keep them fearful and afraid of the world, thus it is perpetually in a cycle of pushing narratives of fear and danger.

Exactly. The same folks who cry about filing lawsuits against China are also against African Americans pursuing reparations for Jim Crow and all the other depredations against black people. Go figure.
