I really hope when summer comes, we see less cases. wishful thinking
I might have thought temperature played a role if not for the recent surge of cases in Singapore. I don't know of any studies on this, but I do hope you are right.
Taiwan, South Korea and Singapore HAVE very stiff governmental rules/laws, which American would only have a Sheet-fit with AND their population is highly disciplined verses our own population.
Taiwan and South Korea live under the threat of imminent attacks and due to 70-75 years of living under the gun, they are conditioned AND able to adjust on the fly AND know how to deal with threats.
I spent time in South Korea and seen that they're well prepare for whatever strikes... Most of their bridges and tunnels have prepositioned explosive charges in them for immediate destruction, in case of invasion. I'm sure it's the same way in Tawian. As for Singapore, you spit on the sidewalk, you're subject to arrest, a fine or a date with an @zz whipping cane. So!! I know their citizens are conditioned to follow instructions without questions.
You cannot compare the United States to any of these countries cuz most Americans, both Democrats or Republican, couldn't deal with their rules and laws.
Btw, I'm a proud American, who loves his country, but have been lucky enough to travel to most every part of this planet to see "how lucky we are."

There are some cons to this type of culture. It stifles innovation. But yes, they will handle a pandemic better, as we are seeing right now.
Better management better leadership that know how to handle a crisis.
And Taiwan has a better and less expensive health care system.
7% of GDP goes to health insurance in Taiwan. Wilst
17% of GDP in the USA goes to health care insurance.
They elected the most anti-Chinese leader, it pays off too.
Their female leader wants Taiwan to be an independent county. I personally have no opinions of that simply because I have no dog in this fight. I have several friends who are taiwanese and they hate China. Oh my God. For the longest time, I thought taiwanese = chinese, The Taiwanese are always offended when I call them Chinese.
