Not only walmart, but if says made in china, we don't buy it. Haven't for many years. Need to look at the label. Even grocery stores many products made in or product of china. We just put it back on the shelf and choose another item.

Walmart is just another retailer. They have leaders to get people there, but if a person primarily shops at walmart, there is no savings, it balances out. Except you will miss the opportunity to stand in their return line.

The virus did originate in CHina and most of us know that Chinese nationals working and living here, Chinese Americans are not responsible and hold no responsible or should have no animosity directed towards them.

But there are some that don't have that common sense, intelligence whatever...or are looking to direct their anger, blame in horrific ways.

So -- we -- as responsible adults have a responsibility to minimize giving license to those that are idiots.

I know many of you don't think so.....and that's fine. You have a different view point entirely on what your role is in society.

I have a Chinese daughter in law who has a PHD in biology. She does cancer research in the USA. She's trying to make the world a better place. If the PResident stands at a podium during a highly stressful time blaming China....you know that some idiot is going to direct their anger and frustration with China to someone like her.

Yes we have a responsibility as a society to think of those few people. WE do....because we have a responsibility to all those that may be victims of those one or two.

Or we should....we should care.

So let's call it COVID -19 and let the federal govt. address China's responsibility for ensuring safety food standards, etc.. with Cihna and not as some political platform agenda for re-election.

This ^^^^^.

I disagree with you about a number of things, but this is just about all spot on.

I also have non blood family members who are Chinese, and I similarly worry about them.

Wuhan virus is the most accurate name.

Calling it the Wuhan Virus isn't careless; it's accurate.

The number of people in the US who will persecute Asian looking Americans because of this virus is so small that it's not even worth discussing.

Idiots will always look for excuses to persecute people who look different from them. And everybody knows where the virus originated, so the name isn't a trigger at all.

Nobody is creating an "Enemy of the country".

Because 'people need to vent' ?

That level of a lack of control over one's emotions is child-like.

True, which is why we should fight against China's racist practices. The country has been around a lot longer than the USA, but yet how many women and people who are not of Chinese descent have ever held political power over there? When was the last time a Chinese TV show was made where a Black person was the lead?

I get your point, but Walmart is hardly the only company that sells Chinese-made goods. Most consumer products that most retailers sell are made in China. That includes other retail giants that people, for some reason, seem to to think are "nicer," like Amazon, Target, Home Depot.

One of the only ways to not buy Chinese is to not buy, period.
