The gov't workers pay is kiling America. You use divisions when it helps your cause but reject them when it doesn't. I reject that methodology. You are parasites upon society.
I would guess that a FBI Agent with a 28% area COLA bump in pay for being in the Boston area would still need years of seniority to reach the pay of this sample MA State Trooper.
most FBI agents are in the GS11 range......which for Boston would be 71k (step1) to 92k (step 10 (20 years at grade)
now some team chief will be GS12.....which for Boston would be 85k (step1) to 111k (step 10 (20 years at grade)
and senior agents (SAIC) "in Charge" will be GS 13....which for Boston would be 101k (step1) to 132k (step 10 (20 years at grade)
now that is boston…. "rest of US rates" are
* "rest of US rates are defined as those NOT within another specified GS Locality... its the default rate
an its not like government workers get many free benefits on top of their salary.... for example we get Health insurance...which WE BUY... its not free
In theory, yes. In practice... not so much. At least not until the older employees retire and take their draconian work methods with them. I swear, between the amount of paper (and every single piece is kept for 7 years), the use of fax machines, adding machines (adding machine, for gawd’s sake), and recent upgrades to windows 7, some of these broads are juuuust catching up to office technology of the late 20th century.
No it was genuine. I am so appreciative of your efforts. You are in a minorty however. You are working your tail off in dangerous circumstances while most government workers are making full pay sitting at home.
How is that fair?
Most? I can’t speak for federal employees, but on a state level, we don’t get paid unless we are actually working (whether at our normal location, or working from home) or charging PTO (and good luck getting approved to use PTO right now). I’m only working from home because the hallway of the floor I normally work on has been converted to handle patient overflow.
That $123K figure is an average total comp package figure. I you challenge me on it i will make you look bad, so do your homework first.
Then why did you compare feds comp package to civilian/priv sector pay?
Quote:
"The Federal worker compensation package is now ~$125,000/yr.. The average private sector job pays $77,000. Those Federal workers are all being paid right now, but not all the Private sector workers."

Not all -some Admins are home - but better to keep the wheel moving. What is the problem ??

Sometimes I wonder where those police officers and FBI agents of Boston live.
There is no way for them to afford a house near downtown or Cambridge, Newton etc. And I assume they don't live in relatively high-crime neighborhoods.
