a link to that would be nice, considering the chinese were still telling the WHO there was no evidence of human-to-human transmission on january 14th.

Oh yes, one of China's best buddies. I could care less about what he says.

None of them should need to be told by a casino reality tv star how to handle an infectious pandemic. It's not like there wasn't plenty of warning from seeing other countries being ravaged.
Trump is constantly brought into the debate because he is supposed to be leading the nation - the entire nation, not just the people who voted for him, nor the people beholden to him, nor the people who can make money for him - and he has not been leading. State governors took initiative while he was bragging first that there was no threat, and then that the threat would be over by Easter. The void of leadership from the top, while not surprising given who the leader is, still has been befuddling.

It may be that Dubya is going to be a better ex-president than he was a president; maybe not on the level of Jimmy Carter, but there does seem to be some potential there.

What is the contexts of this address?
Was he after some funding? Just warning the country? What did he do to prepare? Did Obama heed his warning and make preparations?

I don't think it could have been stopped, but it damn sure could have been handled differently had the administration permitted people who know what they are doing take the lead.

The very fact that states and medical facilities were catapulted into a bidding war to obtain PPE, will cost taxpayers and health insurance companies for years to come. That .10 made in DFW masks would have been a lot cheaper than what some are now paying.

Somebody must have needed time to calculate how to monetize disease.

CNN report:
Quote:
NCMI denied the existence of the report later Wednesday, saying that "no such NCMI product exists."
"As a matter of practice the National Center for Medical Intelligence does not comment publicly on specific intelligence matters," said Colonel Dr. R. Shane Day, the director of the NCMI, in a statement.
"However, in the interest of transparency during this current public health crisis, we can confirm that media reporting about the existence/release of a National Center for Medical Intelligence Coronavirus-related product/assessment in November of 2019 is not correct. No such NCMI product exists," Day added.

IMO, he was warning.

The scientific community who has interest in such matters has been telling us since the 80s.

A writer, trained in immunology, told us what the scientist thought in her 25 yo book, 'The Coming Plague'. She was not the only one.

We were just too busy shopping and watching Dancing with the Stars.

The Bush administration left their research and to do list with the Obama administration, who left it with the Trump transition team. The Trump team did not see the need, so they tossed it and the people who work the to do list.

These information gathering people are now expected to tell us their strategy, tactics and confess? Of course they deny it. I would expect no less.

Yes we have lost lives...........one to many lives.............but hundreds of thousands have been
spared because our nation reacted quickly.....maybe not quickly to some as that is a matter of debate
but quickly enough to spare what could have been a much greater trauma to our country of over 300 million.
God Bless America!
God Bless President Donald Trump .....................2020 woo....hoo!
Unfortunately, the fly in YOUR ointment, Mr. Retired, is the WH/this administration/Donald Trump DID NOT REACT quickly or appropriately, let alone was prepared.

And that is not just my opinion. It is the world's opinion and the evidence and the facts support it. Sadly!

And the tragedy and peril, in our nation, persists, because of an ongoing and total lack of courageous and competent leadership at the top of our government.

Elections have consequences, thanks for reminding us, Mr. Retired. This is what happens when folks think the federal government is so unimportant they can hand it safely over to a know nothing, reality TV star.

trump IS leading the nation right now. but he cant do it alone, and he got the governors involved to the level they are now. the governor have to run their own states, and the president needs to back them up, and trump has done that. things happen best at the state level not the federal level and trump knows this as well as everyone else does.

the best managers delegate responsibility, and it doesnt matter whether they are in private business or in government. and trump is delegating responsibility to those that are supposed to handle it, and he is keeping us updated along the way.

so please stop the hate, and start the thinking.
