All recent population growth comes from persons of color. While the white percentage has been declining since 1950, the 2020 census is expected to be the first to show a negative white growth rate.
These new estimates show annual population changes by race and ethnicity between July 2010 and July 2020. They indicate that, for each year since 2016, the nation’s white population dropped in size. Thus, all of U.S. population growth from 2016 to 2020 comes from gains in people of color.
decline in the number of whites ≠decline in rate of population growth of whites.
at the risk of making you sad: white people are still increasing in numbers.
There has been zero growth among n/h whites since 2016. The final 2020 census figures are expected to show a lower number of n/h whites than the 2010 census; at least that’s the way I’m reading it.

As we await the final 2020 census statistics for America’s race and ethnic populations (due later this summer), newly released Census Bureau estimates compiled independently of the 2020 census[1] suggest something unprecedented: The 2010s could be the first decade when the nation’s white population registered an absolute loss.
With 200K "people of color" coming in the US every month did anyone NOT expect this to happen ?
