The OP is pointing out some very faulty logic in distribution of pandemic stimulus.
Yes there are several other issues with the stimulus bill people should take note of and discuss and a zillion other issues but this thread is specifically about some unemployed workers now receiving (or going to receive) double their normal salary to not work.
Just talked to some family members in FL who are unemployed and requested for unemployment compensation. They are required to list 5 places where they sought employment??? It would be too difficult to figure out what each person would earn individually including tips. The money would never get to people.
why is it difficult. Unemployment/IRS already know how much people make. They calculate the amount of UE based on their income/earnings. You telling me they can't solve for X. UE+Stimulus=Weekly take home pay.

FL needs to get with the program. Other states wave the look for work requirement and allow those self employed to also draw UE.

Yes, DeSantis and Scott. They created policies which make it practically impossible to receive any benefits you have paid for over the decades. My wife is in this situation right now.
The unemployed seems harder - especially if just started and never filed before.
